I like the idea of all the mod's being to the frame.
Swingarm, pivot etc are all easy to replace and aftermarket
Busa arm's go straight in. Very good.
I personaly wouldnt want to increase the bikes length but
its not too bad as later B12's went that way anyway.
What you lose in wheelies and turn's you gain on
stabilty and launches.
Looking good. Im envious.
stabilty will be a plus for sure tony but as for the wheelie's i'll just have to sit a little higher mate ;):D

The 2nd gen Bandits have a 5mm shorter wheelbase than the 1st gen.

Really ? My mistake. Every Bandit i've ridden seemed to get
tamer with age Mk1, Mk2, watercooled Mk3. Perhaps it was just
more user friendly or heavier?
EDIT:http://www.suzukicycles.org/Bandit-series/GSF1200-Bandit.shtml
Still like the Mk1 best.
Had a much more basic / raw feel to it.
Cruisecontrol

I think the latest model is a bit longer but with that lump of watercooled snot they call an engine, I don't class it as a Bandit anyway.

waitting on a full motor seal kit and main gear box drive shaft :(
then fit it to the frame....to make sure it does fit !! then im in the market for a sub frame,im going to look at the buell ass end (my first choise) but if it proves a tad short i'll go for the rear off a 900 monster...time will tell but motor first [:p]

I think the paint is by far the hardest part of any build mate. Get it wrong and its a very expencive mistake. Get it right and you are god, lol.
So come on Harry you can tell me, you know I wont tell no one, well not on this thread anyway, ha ha.
Mate, I had a 900 monster and the seat was a double, if you wanted to make it a single race seat you had to fit a slip over cover pod, but to be fair mate it didnt look that bad.
The only draw back with that unit is the rear blinker stems continue into the the seat plastic, so its a bit difficult to do something with them.
Mind you get rid of the tail tidy and put on an afermarket jobby and they look great.
Harry
22-06-2009, 10:45 PM
im still not sure wat to do with the tail section mate im between a rock and a hard place with it...iv got to retain a pillion seat for the kid's but on the out hand i'd love to put a f-4 augusta tail or some costom job on it...iv got heaps of time to look around yet mate but im look'in hard.nothing is done until it's done,so ta speak;)

that's the go tony,im starting to think there should be a section on the site fully devoted to bandit pic's! anyone how has riden them would have to agree...they may be heavy and wobble a tad while cranked over, as long as that power is on they will 9 time's out of 10 do wat there told. and the amount of variation's of personel fightering just does not end ! everytime i see one it's different to the last..........they are in my eye's one of the best bike's to come out of japan, and you can pic one up for 6 or 7 grand:) and thats a good one. to top it of the air cooled motor is now a classic with the introduction of water cooled fuelled injected same as joe blow motor's that are mass produced for every thing you look at 600cc and above...my bandit is for keeps mate !

Used to cut thought the old industrial part of town each day
going to work. Narrow road, 4 story high buildings right up
to the edge, no foot path. If I got a clear run I used to hold
the Nitrous on in 3rd and 4th gears. Felt Mental. Used to get
to work with a real "buzz" all hyper. Going quick on the street
or dragstrip is good, but this felt MAD, all closed in and twice
as loud. Like being fired down a tunnel. I loved it.

Interested but not desperate.
It would be a 4th bike so cant be spending too much and just paid
$2480 to insure bikes/car/ute so the wallet is still hurting.
Will go have a look if I can find the time (and the money)
The other thing that puts me off is new GSX14's being $12500 or less
ride away. Better see if I still have a job next week first...;)

well after a day of boredom and no work,iv jumped on www.suzukicycles.org (recommended) and found that the 2008 busa wheelbase is 1485mm and the 1996 bandit is 1435mm just a bit of trivia.......so do i gain 50mm by combining the two ? if i ever get my part's from suzuki and the motor back in i will be able to tell ya!![V]http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1246466762.jpg
