Now you mention it Tom, i would like to cut the swingarm pivot off the bent gsx 14 arm and weld it to the bandit arm also streching the bandit arm by 75mm.you should be able to do that standing on your head mate.

its 4.10am i cant sleep.last nite i went up to Forbes and Mills Engineering.my Gsx14 was in the frame jig and neil anderson has a sly grin on his face,he tells me the steering head is Straight.WOO HOO,we only need straighten the shock mounts.ive had to replace the entire front end as the forks and triple clamps were beyond repair,so i grafted a Gsxr750 wp pressed the 1400 stem in and with a bit of jiggling got the front wheel discs and 6 piston brakes of the 14 to fit.im starting to get pumped! the drag season starts in 3 fuckn weeks, ive got a million things to do.photos soon...

Thanks lads, ill get some photos of the bike in the frame jig its an impressive piece of kit.you guys dont miss a thing..that box is the secret weapon..hey si,i actually spoke to the previous owner.he is pretty busted up,he told me that he had spent $8k on the engine with phil tainton .its the same spec as Rapids "Mr muscle" all will be revealed soon.

20-08-2009, 11:10 AM
Did he just overcook it Morry or was he dicking about when it went pear shaped? I can't work out how the wheel ended up in half.
Looking forward to this one mat;, s'gonna be great!
rock hard
20-08-2009, 02:40 PM
Hey Si,He is a very decent bloke. He told me that he wasnt a fast rider and he was out riding with a bunch of his mates on sport bikes trying to keep up( im sure we can all relate)was riding faster than he was comfortable came over the brow of a hill missed the next bend ran onto our famous west aussie red pea gravel and last thing he remembers is the bike flipping over a fence.from the damage its bounced on both ends the tail copped most of it, the forks and the bottom clamp are bent in three different planes. But the strange thing is the front wheel is straight and best of all the steering head even the tank is fairly good.i bought the bike not knowing anything about the engine.if i told you who told me to "get this bike"you might not believe it.but this bike drives me to strive a build the best tribute to a man who we all dearly miss everyday...see you mate..

Mozzy called round with some spacers for the rear wheel conversion and also the chopped down sump to mill it off flat.
Here he is milling some air...
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1252807851.jpg
Then it was time to get serious and fuck something up that was important and expensive to replace.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1252809265.jpg
To both our surprise, it came off the mill just how he wanted it.
No holes in the wrong spots and no bits flying across the shed and into my car.
Which was nice.
