China Doll, no no no my friend. The Shun Shin is a far superior machine coming from the land of Taiwan which has a reputation for producing a good quality machine in the day. But only 2hp :(

some of the taiwan stuff is really good and a dam site better than the chink shit
the secrect is to tell the power poeple u want to put on a enrgy effec 3 phase air com to help out the greenys like
and the nice poeple, if they can upgrade yr power to 3 phase to yr property pole or piont of conection.
then if u lucky u have just built a fucking big shed with the intention of building a workshop cause u can
so when elecy type person has to put power to the shed some 25mm 4core and earth fall yr way at the right price
well it would be silly not to do the lot in big fat copper type stuff lol oh and yer when the sparky goes to run the 2.5 3 phase
dont tell him y just tell him to go to the next size up just incase u get a 1940s mill for a few 100 lol
just fucking with ya long day lets just say it runs great with no volatge drop i cut some what felt like 4140 the other day and cut 24 X 4 mm threads in it for the frame jig im building and the thing just ate it up but at the end of the day i was at the right place at the right time and got a $3000 to $6000 machine for under $1000

cool! so whats ur set up for lo and hi boost slingy? r u gunna use water injection?
NO!!!
Not a big fan of water injection. Just another complication to go wrong, and really only mask's the sysmptons caused by a bad setup. Plus the water then takes up inlet charge space once occupied by air so causes mixture to go rich etc.
Back in the early days of turbocharging where carbs were the norm and little ignition control was available it was another control method that could be used.
Now, with efi, we can achieve similar results by mapping in ever increasing AFR's, so the higher the boost gets the more fuel we use to cool the charge. Plus we can run less and less advance as boost rises to again reduce the temps at peak cylinder pressure.
For example, my mate has a 550bhp 2.2L Toyota MR2 that he built. That motor runs 9.0-1 comp ratio and 25psi of boost. You'd think this wouldnt work and would lead to dettonation but if you use enough fuel to cool the burn and adjust the timing accordingly then its possible.
So, my motor is running 7.5-1 CR forged pistons, and with the Microsquirt i dont have any fears running 25psi or whatever my ihi can muster.
My issues will be the headgasket (as i'm still on stock studs), clutch ( still deciding whether to go for a 6 spring basket from a L/M 750 or build a lockup for mine or belt and braces L/M basket and a lockup!), then there's the rods and gearbox.
So, my plan is to start at my base 10psi that i'm running now, set high to 15, toggle up to high check AFR, then reset high to 20 psi, check AFR etc. and if at any point i'm not happy with the afr's i can just drop back to low where its definately mapped ok and come home.
And i'm just gonna keep upping the boost till something lets go, then fix it :D

u know once u go to say 20 lbs of boost and ride it u wont be able to contain yourself and 10 lbs wont be an option anymore because 20 feels so good when it kicks you in the ass and shoots you up the road that shit is addictive as you are finding out ,so good luck with loads of boost.

Funny, someone else said the same, but whatever, i needed a boost controller anyway ;)
but that toyota bloke must have an ic installed? u cant go rich and retarded endlessly slingy hahaha so u'll have to cool down the charge with ic or use a higher octane fuel

Yep, he sure did, as well as a massive turbo to help reduce back pressure and the heating affects associated so it only made the power nere the redline. And your right, i will be re-installing an intercooler at some point as well.

Hi peeps,
Well, i went for a 3 hour ride yesterday with a mate up at Mt Mee and have to say, all seems well. Sprocket stayed on, nothing fell off and made it home under my own steam so pretty pleased.
I was tuning initially with the lappy but after an hour stopped and just rode it and its still a little rich in places but OMG, its going well
The only issues that arose from the ride were the indicators packing up (funny as they are about the only part of the bike i havnt touched lol) and the suspensions a bit hard so will look at turning the rates down abit ready for the next outing.
Time to start turning up the boost ;)

looking good slingy, keep an eye on the little air solenoid with the eboost, they do stick sometimes. also the gauge isn't waterproof, they don't like the rain much, the last one I fitted I put a little bag of silica gel in it to try and absorb any moisture in case it got wet on the bike. You'll have hours of entertainment playing with the different settings on it

Not alot to report really.
Went for another long ride around Mt Mee with my mate and all seems well. Didnt even bother tuning, just rode it how it is, and it does seem to be going bloody well :)
When we got back i let me mate have a go as i cant tell if it seems quick to me cause i dont ride anything else to compare it to or if it is actually quite fast. He ridden Busa'a and ZX10's so has something reasonable to compare to.
Well he cam back with a massive cheasy grin on his face uttering the words "this thing is INSANE!" This made me happy. He reckoned it pulls slightly harder than the Busa he brother has and couldnt get over the armstrecthing accelleration followed by front wheel lifting action as the boost comes in.
Not bad for a 24 yr old 750 me thinks. I dont believe for one minute it has the power it feels like, its just the way it delivers it that feels so impressive i think. I have a small el cheapo helmet cam so will endeavour to get some onboard footage soon. And all this with 10psi. Cant wait to try 15 or higher but have to say am a bit nervous about it too.........
We will see.

Thinking of using this headlight
http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss11/slingy88/750 slingshot/KGrHqZHJEYE88dNCbGBPYSb6Ihg60_12.jpg
Then trying to decide whether to use risers and renthals, or build an alloy dash to bolt to the top yoke with all clocks integrated in with bars kinda coming out the sides?
Think it would look cool and clean but just worrys that if i dropped, couldnt just throw a new set of renthals and be off again, but i suppose it wouldnt be too hard to just cut out the bar ends and weld in straight bits again either! Will give it some more thought......................................see these dots, thats me thinking that is.....

Ah cool. Kinda thinking one of these in the centre of the dash/riser with the 3 other smaller dials, (boost, fuel and AFR) spaced around the top of it. And cause its a round gauge be easier to turn up some alloy parts to weld together than to fabricate around the shape of a vapor or similar speedo.
Mates given me some slightly bent renthals to cut up for the bar ends if i go this route.

Make sure the headlight has the magic E mark on it.
There are a couple of bikes kicking around with that light and they look pretty good.
Don't forget you'll need longer brake line too with the bars...
I've been thinking about making some frame sliders to save all the bits that stick out, it might be worth some thought.

Nothing else on this thing is complianced so the light will be the least of my worrys if busted lol.
Its got Hel brake lines and when i had them made up many moons ago i had an extra 100mm put in just incase i decided to do this at some point. Forward planing at its best ;) And from what i've been told, the throttle and clutch cables can be re-routed to fit.
Frame sliders is a good idea, i might start looking into that. Alloy or steel?

But this place also does Billet engine covers and heaps of other cool stuff for a really good price and would be good for all on here if they did ship to Oz. Might just keep looking for something else. Even been thinking about a butcherd netbook and using the Tunerstudio screen for the dash, but needs some more investigation and it has no speedo so would still need to cobble something up for that, even if just a bike speedo or something. Ok guys been a bit of a while. Managed to fuck the origional top tripple!!! This probably one of my first fuck ups. I decided to fill some of the hollows under the tripple as when i drilled the holes for the bar clamps they would be close to the edge of one of the webs underneith. Well a combo of the heat of welding combined with holding in the vice across the fork clamp ended up with it warped and it wouldnt fit over the fork leg anymore. I tried filing it to fit and then thought no,no, no. So i ended up having to source another and just ended up drilling the holes as it was and its all good know. Swapped all the controls over and everthing seems long enough which is great, and also made up the brackets to hold the headlight on. plaid around with the height and just like latheboy suggested, it looks best dropped abit as below.

Havnt had a chance to try it as still fitting the new headlight etc. it makes the return springs feel abit heavier but should be fine. All the bikes i had as a youngster were 1/4 turn and loved them so i think this will be good. I hate having to adjust your grip to get from idle to WOT like with the stock setup!

Right, been really busy at work so done nothing but alot of thinking and a little googling.(not always a good thing)
I dont really like any of the dash's for sale and the better ones seem pretty exi. I've always liked the idea of the using the tuning software as an integrated dash and so this is the route i have taken now.
The tuning software (tunerstudio) only runs on a full version of windows so finding something small enough that will run it was a little tricky then found the HTC SHIFT.
http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss11/slingy88/750 slingshot/HTC_20Shift_X9500_2.gif
7" Tablet touch screen, fold out querty keyboard and runs full Vista so checked with a mate and this should be good for the job.It has Bluetooth so i have also purchased a Serial to Bluetooth adapter for the ECU so the HTC will only need a charge supply off the bike and no other wires. This will sit nicley in my new headlight unit as only about the size of a DVD Box.
The dash screen looks like so
http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss11/slingy88/750 slingshot/Dashview.jpg
So this will give me all the gauges i need and some, plus allow all tuning to happen on board as well as datalogging etc. Bloody AWESOME!!!. I'll make like a cradle for it to sit in so it can be removed for easier data changes with the keboard etc, or just to stop it getting nicked.
So will just need a speedo od somesort to finish it off still. Anyone using pushbike speedo's or may just use a Vector or vapor still. Will have to do a bit more digging for that.

Cant you just run a separate speedo program and have them both up at the same time (split screen) ?

There are complete covers available for these that i might look into, but i dont ride in the rain often and if i get cought out i can just take it off and slip under my jacket . Thats another reason why i'd keep the speedo seperate, then if the bluetooth link fails/HTC fails, then the speedo can stiil be read which is the important one as far as the law is concerned. Oh and i've got a heap of chrome bezzled (however the fuck you spell it) LED's for the idiot lights. And i dont have to just stick to that dash layout, there are 4 all up and you can pick and choose what gauges you want and where in the layout as well as set the limits of the gauges and warning/ danger zones of each with a simple right click drop down menu. should be pretty cool. It also means that when i get around to dyno time, i'll just set the logger and Auto tune running in the background so the dyno opperator be unwittingly tuning my bike for me LOL .;)

just passed a local bike shop so dropped and bought a neat little speedo, wireless sender so could mount front or back wheel with no wires etc, told em it was for a motorbike and they said that this one would go to 199kmph. I thought ah well that will do for the moment, any faster than that and i wont be watching the speedo anyway.
Did a quck test when i got home to be sure. (bolted the supplied magnet through a CD and spun in the drill while holding the sensor close) to find it maxed out at 105.9kph! Something i later found in the small print of the instructions. Stuffed it all back in the box and hope they take it back . Shame. luvley little unit as well.:(

They did take it back and i got another unit, still wireless, with the same size digits so its easy to read, but over all is a bit smaller and chaeper to boot. And this one does go to 199.9kph so should do for the mo.

I was wondering if you'd chime in on this one Surt lol.
Yeah, i looked at Shadow logger and theres also Mobisquirt for the iphone/ipad.
But, i figuered, if i was gonna do it, i'd want more than just logging and really to be able to run VE Anyliize Live while riding from it as well as being able to make table changes, tune Accel enrichment (which i havnt even started on yet) etc.
I believe an Android compatible version of Tunerstudio is coming but there is no real deadline as far as i know.
So this is the best thing i could come up with and should allow me to just transfer all my current software and files across via a gigstick to the HTC.
Have you looked at TS yet? Its well worth the money.
Cheers Slingy
nah i didn't, but it looks like my htc tilt 2 phone, is it real 7"? im fucked up by windows mobile so i'll just wait until a new shadowlogger version comes, i still have lots of things to do on my bandit unlike you mate!
btw i pm u my idea of making an ally flange for down pipe with pressed in titanium tube, probley it came to the spam box?
My old serial port laptop's hd died so I have got hold of a 10" netbook to use just for ms, it runs windows 7 starter. Do you know if tuner studio will run on that or must I upgrade the os?

From what i've read, it looks like it should run it. Just have to give it a go. If it dosnt, you can download an upgrade to full Windows 7 which it will run on.
