Bugger.... Fire up the territory and head north a few days before the 28th then..
Mark and I went for a ride to Casino today. We found 2 pubs close to each other. One sleeps about 30, the other 20. Prices around $30 to $40. The Commercial has a lockable yard for the bikes, average sort of pub you find in a country town. Does have a balcony and a pool room, didn't see a red dress. Went to Kyogle as well for a look. Commercial Hotel at Kyogle has hotel rooms and motel(you get your own shitter and shower) rooms. It would probably have enough beds for all of us, but the pub only has a front bar, bistro and a back verandah. Not a lot of room. $35 to $45. There is another pub close by for the loud snorers. Either town is on the doorstep of great roads.
I put Coffs in the mix for two reasons..
1 I wouldn't mind a good day ride and I'm sure I can turn this into a 800k day hehe
2 thinking of the Sydney riders in particular Ben on the turbo bike
3 The roads...22.3 ks down the h/way you're at the foothills of waterfall way then up to Dorrigo , do the loop/triangle or take the back road up to Grafton down thru Nymboida maybe stop for a beer (busa club is staying there same w/end) to ebor and back, similar to 2012 run but different (i'm sure i can add ks) but back for an arvo seafood feed (prawns ..fastest sauce vehicle ever)
4 maybe Yella might want to ride with us this time
But anyway vote for a town and we'll make it happen..

1 : Macksville is half way between Syd and Briz.
2 : Excellent riding from both directions.
3 : We all get to meet up at Dorrrigo for the final twissties down waterfall way.Or we could stay at Dorrigo for once.
4 : Nambucca Hotel knows and respects us,and looks after bike security.
5 : "It began in Smackville"
6 : Casino has a de-commissioned runway, like how boring is that shit.
7 : Coffs only has 1 decent Pub with accom, think its called the wharf. Doesn't sleep many. All the other shit is boutique or backpacker.

I went through the Ebor > Nymboida road the other day, there's some remarkable bits of new hot mix and some very bad dirt sections that are close to if not by now tar, but generally not "too" bad other than the dirt bits.
Nymboida to Couts Crossing is as rough as ever though.
Are you planning on heading to AFR Davo ?
Only if your lacking horsepower.
I remember quite a few folk having fun there.
Try heading out of town.
The Bruxner Hwy from Casino to Tenterfield is real entertaining
when you turn up the pace, as are several other local roads.

Right so it seems the dates for AFR are 28th - 30th March and going by the poll we're heading to Casino.
From Terry & Mark's recon it seems the Commercial pub in town is the place to go as they should have enough beds and lockable area for the bikes.
Am I missing something or are we good to go and start booking leave and rooms?? Whats the protocol here as I haven't been to an AFR since 09 and that was camping for the weekend. Does everyone just book their own room and rock up? What time do you usually meet up? Do a few peeps from Brissy meet up for a ride down?
Only 4.5 weeks to go, so get off your asses people.
