polished a few bits the other day and i failed to put anything on there
to protect it , the air from the cyclone must have been that dense with salt
that the next day everything was covered in surface rust and the alloy was
all white , exept the bits i used autosol on :( , oh well i do it all again.
i will get a few more pics up soon :D
monkey business! [V] pics or never happened!

will get some up soon , pc is still slow as crap and the router
doesnt like the net while running off the genny, near 48 hours
without power , poor buggers are workin hard to get it all back on,
i think we will be the last suburb in the town to get our power back on,
a big tree down the road is still sitting on the lines :(

i think it would be ashame to leave it 1/2 done , plus you see the amount of effort every one here puts into their rides it would feel
like i would be letting you all down if i didnt finish it :)

So i had 10 minutes of free time finally , so i decided to rip the top off and have a looksee, before doing so i removed #4 plug, ok , then #1 plug , hmm bit tight, ok give it some effort, snap [:0] , #1 pot will be our problem then, and as you can see this is what i have found , no guesses for what has happend inside there [V] , oh well ,i shall keep you all informed as and when i proceed deeper [V]

yeah i been lookin at a complete rego'd slabby 1100 and a fully rebuilt 1100 eng. but i dont know what year it is. all prolly the same price as fixing this 750 [V] and all exactly the same amount of coin i dont have , HAHAHA!! , i may just have to rego the NSR 150 in the meantime , which would be fun but for a while till its in a similar situation.

who set the valves in Carl? shoot the fucker! i still believe the engine can be restored for cheap re-honing the cyls oversized pistons perhaps the valve guide's cracked then replacing it as well buyin a new motor is no go at any rate mate!
dingo
21-11-2010, 10:17 AM
no idea who seated the valves surt, but when i put the new cams in i made sure all the shims were right , i checked em several times over
cos i couldnt believe they were spot on in the middle of the service range, and i am still gunna strip her down and look at fixing it.
butif the price of another motor or bike is the same then 7/11 it will be ;) if i find the parts i need cheap enough then i will be more than happy to fix this [8D]
Harry
21-11-2010, 09:56 PM
must be a old bandit donk around cheap carl..... 7/12 sounds good !:)
dingo
21-11-2010, 10:03 PM
hey hows it goin Harry :D , sure does sound sweet , as long as
everything i needed was with it that i needed for the conversion
i could be tempted , just waiting for the rain to stop then i can
open her up a bit more to see the damage. missus isnt keen on me
bringin the engine inside :(
Harry
22-11-2010, 01:42 PM

@hypo all i can say man cos it was that quiet. i even stuck my head down that side to listen to it at the lights [:0]
@xa YEP! she sure is hey :( [B)]
@Surt roughly 1-2kms , be fukd if im gunna leave it on the side of the road in this town , you leave a car on the side
of the road in a weird spot for a few hours and you will have no back window left.
be cheaper for me to dig up another motor than rebuild that Surt , the bore also has a good few dings in it too [xx(]
