deano i have jumped to end of the thread and want to know can you do one for the zx7r if i got you a cover to work with? feel free to scream if this has been asked a hundred times b4!!

Deano
22-05-2007, 06:28 PM
turbokat has one on his zxr9. i am not sure if the 7 has the same cover as the 9 but if so it can be done and looks bloody great as the window sits parell with the clutch. on turbo's there was a cover inside the cover. you will have to cut that out to see the clutch.

and you will also have to sacrifice the oil level window as i think you have to break it to get it out as it will melt if it stays in through the welding process.

turbo may even get a pic of it for you if we ask him nicely.

TurboKat

Seeing as how youz arksd me nice like...

Like Deano said, there's a domed inner cover inside the clutch casing, you can see the remains of it at the bottom of the window, I left as much of it in as possible coz I thought it might be necessary-ish for oil flow & maybe give the outer casing some extra rigidity.
As you can see, the window sits parallel with the engine/frame line which I must say, looks the dogs bollocks & the ZX clutch is much purty-er looking than the crummy 4 bolt unit in Gixers so you'd naturally want to show it off ('Specially if you're riding with blokes on GSXRs ;))

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/24702275279495.JPG

The oil sight glasses are available new from Kawasaki for about $18 or so if you happen to break yours getting it out like I did. :(

EXBEN

You'd need to supply the cover. Although if you have one in good nick I could do it on an exchange basis as I've got one here.
Yes the lugs can come off.

Deano are these only for bikes with a hydraulic clutch?[:o)]

Deano
04-06-2007, 09:35 PM
no.

just need to see what is on the inside of your clutch cover. if there is some gear cast into the inside of your cover that allows the clutch to work then you are no gunna want to cut that out.

best to either take a pic of the cover and post it up or take the cover off an have a look behind it.

If anyone wants a custom window like GIX11's... I'll do a few for free.

I didn't do Si's but I can do them.

If someone wants something custom on theirs , send it to me with return postage or a few bucks and I'll do what ever you want.
Lettering would be a complicated as I would do for free, but almost anything is possible.

I'll dig out a few photo's

Hey, Deano, check out the lock-up clutch i did for my GSX, it fits behind the standard case without using a spacer plate, and the puller shaft is like a "nail through the finger"

EXBEN
29-08-2007, 09:00 AM
What happens when you pull the clutch in? The arms must get very close to that shaft.

moog
29-08-2007, 09:16 AM
yea, they do, but it's all modelled in 3D and it's been on the bike for a couple of years, you just have to get the arm messing on the right tooth when you put the cover back on ( i've got it marked)

Deano
29-08-2007, 06:28 PM

Deano
29-04-2010, 05:46 PM
cas supply the insert only for you to fit into your cover for $230

fitting is extra. they are very easy to fit to be honest. if you know somone that can ally weld then cutting the hole is simple with a jigsaw. i could do changeover but gibbo still has my change over cover so will have to chase him up for it.
