Hey Wackyman, any chance you could take a photo of your Ignition trigger plate when at TDC or firing please.

I am using K4 Injection on my oilburner and having trouble figuring where the hell this thing is supposed to trigger!

Cheers

Agreed at $13k value

Wasn't the cheapest insurance, but then again same as AAMI and Shannons give me the choice of repairer, accept that I have done the work on it and accepted the photo's as proof of how the bike is.

With the choice of repairer, they even allow you to repair the bike yourself if you so please.

Cruisecontrol

Do they cover it as a daily ride?

I've got cover with Shannon's for my GSX whilst it's being built. Agreed value of $15K $15 per month and it covers you for damage whilst it's being built. Eg if you drop your newly painted tank or fry your new wiring loom it's covered.

Time for some TLC for the Gixxa.

First off time to clean up the back of the bike a bit. Old vs new. Slightly different...

I've always hated having the temp sensor on the front of the radiator, so I asked Ben to machine this up for me so that I can relocate the switch

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/wackyrider/Gixxer/10E9EF4E-D793-4067-9DF3-38A8D23B1773_zpsxj3hievh.jpg (http://s770.photobucket.com/user/wackyrider/media/Gixxer/10E9EF4E-D793-4067-9DF3-38A8D23B1773_zpsxj3hievh.jpg.html)

Raditaor has copped it a bit lately some time for a freshen up as well as installed the new plug where the switch used to be

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/wackyrider/Gixxer/F00F889C-4C22-40A2-A14C-285D1F0C11D3_zpszdcyptkq.jpg (http://s770.photobucket.com/user/wackyrider/media/Gixxer/F00F889C-4C22-40A2-A14C-285D1F0C11D3_zpszdcyptkq.jpg.html)

Radiator rubbed back and given a fresh coat of paint. Gone back to black this time round

Fitted the PCV on the bike last weekend and took it for a spin. Now need to take it on the dyno and get it tuned properly.

I'm sure I've asked before but can't seem to find where. Who do you suggest in Brissy for tuning a bike on the dyno?

Went to ASBK at Qld Raceway. Had a blast watching the racing, and got to have a chat with Ivan's mate. Discovered that after paying to get the bike dynoed and tuned by another mob (wasn't too happy with the result on the weekend ride away) compared it with a Dyno dynamics dyno chart and the bike still needs some tuning...

So bikes getting some TLC again. Clutch started slipping last time on the dyno, so got a new one from EBC. Also copped a fair few stone chips in the paint, so getting that touched up and this time try to get some paint protection on her.

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/wackyrider/Gixxer/36A05F2A-4130-4EC9-9552-F11202603789_zpsrdrdv2it.jpg (http://s770.photobucket.com/user/wackyrider/media/Gixxer/36A05F2A-4130-4EC9-9552-F11202603789_zpsrdrdv2it.jpg.html)

While I'm at it I'm also finally looking at fitting the new wheels...

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/wackyrider/Gixxer/3BB7B6F1-A7A6-4725-B2DC-D7CAD5CBD9CE_zpsyw3no64q.jpg (http://s770.photobucket.com/user/wackyrider/media/Gixxer/3BB7B6F1-A7A6-4725-B2DC-D7CAD5CBD9CE_zpsyw3no64q.jpg.html)

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/wackyrider/Gixxer/32B4E82F-5107-4587-A592-1CC6CF86EAB5_zpsz3gnjaad.jpg (http://s770.photobucket.com/user/wackyrider/media/Gixxer/32B4E82F-5107-4587-A592-1CC6CF86EAB5_zpsz3gnjaad.jpg.html)

The front spacer is gonna require a bit of a trim to centre the new wheel in and a lick off the outside of the shaft too. The bearings and seals on the new wheels sit flush where as the original wheels were offset to the inside, so need to trim up both sides.

For the rear wheel, at a glance it seems as though it will fit in. However I'm looking now for a rear disc to fit (OD-220, ID-80 (min) & PCD-100). I'll also need to make up a custom sprocket as the new mount on the wheel is much smaller.

14-08-2014, 09:21 AM
Wow, neat technique. How do you get perspective right with different photos? Surely the angle would be different with other photos? Do you mean they were taken at the eact same spot on the tripod with and without the bike in shot?

14-08-2014, 09:45 AM
He sets the Camera up on the tripod and takes a photo with just the natural lighting for the background. then another pic with him walking with a light behind the bike to give the light from on top. Same with the bottom of the bike. Does this a couple of times to see which gives the best lighting, then he edits the pics together and uses the background from one, the lower half from another, etc..

It takes him a while doing the editing... All the pics are taken in the exact same location

They've gone on the back burner till the house reno is done.

For the front wheel i just need to take approx 3mm off the spacer and the same off the outside of the axle as the original bearings were recessed where as these are not. For the rear a bit more complicated. I bought a disc which should fit on the new wheel (still need to test fit) and then make up a spacer and custom sprocket.

Just need to find someone to make the parts for me after i take the measurements.
