Hey Surt, love what you're doing mate. One question though, have you considered accessibility once you change the frame about? i.e. with a side bar will you be able to get the carbs out? I'm guessing the yellow wire is just a representation but what about the final width of the bar? I know it's boring but just something I've seen before with somebody do when they realised they couldn't remove anything without dropping the engine out each time.

Gonna be more space for an access to the head

Carbs can be removed at ease unlike when they were with the fugly air box

hey Si thanks heaps but afraid uve missed the post yip accessibility was the main reason why ive undertaken the frame mods after i had cut of the seat subbie; i wasnt about to modify the frame any farther, but i was so fucking sick and tired while takin the engine from frame and realised that i'd never put it back without scratching both engine and frame! so i just HAD to start the frame mods!
btw i rate the frame 3 of 5 or scholar C lol, built of the cheapest raw steel SEAMED piping, its overweighted, not user friendly and pooply designed, they should of let the fugly front down tubes run as wide as the engine and use better grade steel, the front mounts r on the wrong place (shouda been on the head) and on rubbers while rear mounts r rigid so the engine jumping up and down on them, the cyl block is out of the triangle of loads, kinda a heavy weight that u holding in ur hands while running, its wiser to strap it to ur back aint it?... everythin is imfo bahaha!

Surt. Not sure if you've already seen it? but the frame in
the pic with the engine top mount is by Metmachex.
It got very mixed feed back. Some folk love it, others like
OSS refer to it as "deadly Metmachex contraptions" but that
may be more to its adjustable steering head ?
Still interesting though.

The concept is sound, but the way it was implemented isnt great.
I would have used a counter sunk bolt not plain allen head sticking out like it does.

I think bolting it straight through the frame member could have been done a bit differently.
A dog leg on the cleat with a lug on the underside of the frame member would have been a bit neater.
Thats just my thoughts. But the engine support cleat/bracket design could be better.

its sound and its tough, only a narrow mind sets limits what power plant to use from, i dont think its an obstacle if it comes from a car or snow mobile or boat or plane as far as it fits my concept and my chassis ever heard of Bill Hahn a propriator of www.hahnracecraft.com (http://www.hahnracecraft.com/) with ecotec engined dragster? he had had a shit fight with us drag bike community split up with em and organised an owtlaw drag bike association where car engined bikes r legal... he could tell ya why the drag race sponcors wouldn't let car engines on bikes just because they'd have lost tons of coin who would buy their big bore kits and strokers if anyone could use a modern car engine technically matching to the modern bike engine but more upgradable and sufficiantly CHEAPER

another question to those who in the know, when u send oil to cams thru external hoses, do u block the lower holes?

http://i41.tinypic.com/21do6kh.jpg

The early gsxr's had issues transfiring oil from one cam to the other so Suzuki added external oil lines. They later fixed that issue, but kept the engine casings and added bungs. Other than look's there is no need to fit external oil lines now, but saying that I fitted them to my B12 because they look cool. The banjo bolt that holds them on is quite stubby and with the copper washers it should not foul the lower holes.

decided to go efi and turbo right out, not waiting for the autumn, so yesterday i bought t03/04 turbo, a huge intercooler for cutting in halves, a 63mm 36-1 trigger wheel and vr sensor from triggerwheel.com, now im just gonna sort out my order from diyautotune.com, going microsquirt this time
wat i wanna know is if miscrosquirt really has a boost control option as its stated on trigger-wheels.com and nowhere else, anyone knows?

remade the side tubes cos i didnt like em bein to high and they didnt let out the valve cover... tis taken a while

http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r638/Surt_Rafrrirr/DSCF4397.jpg

now the valve cover would slide aside at ease as well as the carbies which already wrapped in a paper and ready for sale fuck em!

sooo yas liked the frame mates? coz i didn't! bwahahaha!

http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r638/Surt_Rafrrirr/DSCF4405.jpg

heres all the odds and bits i of cut of the frame so far, every little piece, theres nothing to cut of anymore haha

it would be alright with a standard carb setup but the side rails didnt let in tbp sensor and throttle cables pulley and brackets, which was noticed a tad to late

also theres to tight room in front for the ic and turbine set up

also the upper rails r too narrow and wouldnt let in busas turbo intake (and its rounded shape looks like an arse haha)

so ive finally took the resolution and cut the whole bloody frame apieces and started it anew

http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r638/Surt_Rafrrirr/DSCF4402.jpg

the invisible frame

so i decided to stretch it by moving the engine 100mm backwards also the steering neck's to be lowered by 40mm and the rear part of the frame is to be raised for 40mm so the frames gunna look flat as a bench; the rake is to be set at 28 deg

spent helluva time trying to press out the lower bearing race, even drilled 2 holes to beat it out but it bloody stuck, the steering neck was deformed a bit in the bottom so i gave it to a turner to cut it of and to make a replacement which later was pressed on and welded around inside and outside, tomorrow its gotta be finally machined to the bearing race diametre
