Nice one. I like the finished look. I would probably change the headlight for myself, but overall I like it

21-03-2012, 08:35 AM
thanks fellas!

like i said the tail is a bit rough, can still see some sanding marks and shit....but i like how
it has turned out.

i still need to change the taillight to something brighter and i will swap the headlight
too, same style but to something with an H4 bulb so i can see!

Looks very good mate! Use some Sv lights or a downwards line of leds or something!

That's actually a good idea!

I have a set of SV tinted tail lights if you want to see how they look.

wackyrider
21-03-2012, 11:43 AM
They wouls work well with that tail too

kiwi kdx
21-03-2012, 12:35 PM
i had thought of the sv tailight, but i thought my tail wouldn't be a steep enough angle to see it....

might have to look into it a little further.

xa-mont
21-03-2012, 12:39 PM
nah that angle would be fine.

You can come pinch mine for a while if you want, or you could just bring your bike over and we can hold it up besite the bike and have a looksee.

21-03-2012, 01:01 PM
yeah ill come check it out for sure

my other idea was some nice BIG led strips like this, but smoked so they dont stick out too much.
sorta cadillac style....

like these cut in maybe?

that idea could work, but i think either of those examples you gave would look kinda cheap.

kiwi kdx
22-03-2012, 09:35 AM
yeah i need to see the lights before i buy anything.

xa-mont
22-03-2012, 09:40 AM
if you could find some LED lights that would flush mount a little better your idea would look cool though... but i kinda think you would need to make your own housings for them to fit right because square ones would look a little out of place i reckon.

Probably wouldn't be to hard to make some housings out of some thick perspecs, shape it to fit the tail, polish the outside, and drill holes to put some LED's in the inside.

22-03-2012, 01:42 PM
what about single inline leds ,you could put as many as you like to get the look you want just drill single hole for each one in any shape you like.

Go the bullet shaped cadillac lights !!! I know its been done before but the whole 'pointy' thing might just work.....

Looking good mate !!

26-03-2012, 04:56 PM
@ stuNVA mate those look like cop magenets!!!!! but cool little lights.

Trav, how can we ride on a work day??? haha im one of those poor bastards that work sat buddy,
i still need to do the carbs to ritchen her up, running super lean with the race pipes and K&N,
but then ill be hastling you to show me the good roads around melbourne for sure mate!!! trust me!

@ 98green, thanks mate, i did try a template hiding the entire subframe but just found ot too bulky.

98green
26-03-2012, 05:21 PM
When we make moulds at work sometimes we use cardboard to make the shape then glass them over.. Just easier sometimes and then you dont need to join them and then bog the gaps..

kiwi kdx
26-03-2012, 06:50 PM
Sounds like u work somewhere fun.........

98green
26-03-2012, 07:05 PM
Not really.. I make ornie, ealing roses and repo heritage plaster stuff but sometimes play with rubber to make moulds too.. Cardboard is cheap and great for templates as well.. Just make what you want and tape it together and glass away.. Make plaster moulds as well from time to time.. Where did you find that full exhaust? been trying to get a 03-04 zx6r headder for cheap but nothing my kinda cheap getting about :(

kiwi kdx
27-03-2012, 12:03 PM

only problem is now i need to re-jet the carbies as she runs super lean.

98green
27-03-2012, 12:11 PM

xa-mont

How do you go about a roadworthy with very little hugger, modded rear subframe, etc?

It looks awesome! A credit to you!

Ahhh, shneaky shneaky.

My dad's customer has a legit QLD mod plate for his Turbo Busa. Even stating it has over 489 rwhp!

I spose it's a matter of who you know that helps as well! ;)
