    acewell 2053 info????

got started on wiring the ace well unit. As the gixer switches the negative for oil and Neutral idiot lights i am guessing i have to fit a relay to change to switching the positive so the idiot light operates correctly.

anyone done this before???? or is there another way to get round this???

    cheers

    Still lurking.....Merry Xmas

Well I aint gone to ground. Still lurking in the shadows. Just had a bit of a sh1t time of it of late and aint getting any time on the bike. Family stuff.

Anyway just thought i would drop a line to say hope you all have a safe and happy christmas .

I hope to be back in the shed in the new year and back picking you brains for suggestions. I was really hoping to have the bike finished this year but i guess best plans and all that.

OK gents I know its been a while since you saw any progress on the build..Been a bit of a shocking year or two for getting any time on the spanners let alone posting any sh1t here....been under strict orders to pull me head in and spend some time with the family and at work .... sorry lads but ma lady won that one. Hopefully things are changing and on the up for us in the future.

anyhow somehow managed to get enough brownie points to get some time in the shed to and try to get the ole girl started and so a bit of choke later and the house stinking of fumes and the rumble of the ole girl fills the street,,,,,but as soon as i give it some throttle she stops short and I go limp.

so i am checkin in for some help and i am sure someone here can....

Any idea where hose no 6 or 21 get connected to?? atmosphere? do they need a filter?? me thinx I fucked up

Hopefully I can get a bit of a more steady move now on the build and get some more up to date pickys loaded soon

Here is my most recent picky of late:

Have since fitted the front guard (stock) and finally managed to get the brakes bled up and working had to redo all seals etc

managed to get the fuel leak fixed the carbs but now left with the problem as per previous post.

haven't had her running really long enough to say if i am happy with the note of the new pipe.

I still have a few things to sort with the ace well unit. taco sorted but speed sensor to get sorted and temp to get sorted.

and as for the paint still undecided...ideas on a $100 note and send to.........myself

Fuck i really need to get the escape pod finished this year before i throttle one of my kids.

Both my builds have stalled even more than usual lately due to sorting kids mx bikes......

That's what I'm tellling myself anyway.

I've found that even if you get the smallest thing done and ticked off the list it's still counts as forward progress.

Ok so hose 6 and 21 just vent to air, thanx doug and Luke via fuckbook, still she and I go limp when I give her some throttle

I had the carbs apart and cleaned, new gaskets etc and I reckon there lies my problems. She starts and idles on choke albeit rough and as soon as I give her some throttle she Stutters to a halt but will then start no probs on choke again.

Stock air box has been removed and running bmc pod filters. I have a factory pro stage2 kit , I may have to think about rejecting to suit. Anyone any tips/experience to share on the matter. I don't know much on how the carbies work and so don't really know where to start with rejetting etc. all help appreciated on this matter.

Any ideas.???I prefer to sort myself if I can b4 paying someone to fix. 2 reasons I like to learn and I'm skint

Yeah still going Si. Unfortunately I don't get much time to spend playing with her. Work/family shit keep getting in the way. So trying to set up the carbs in going to be fun with 5 mins here and there.
Was hoping someone here may have a starting point to go from with jet sizes etc so to make my life a little easier.

At my rate I could be a year or 2 trying to sort the carbs....but I'll get there .....eventually

I'll pull the bowls of my carbs and check jet sizes for ya. Mine is running on K&N pods, it's rich but it runs (when it's not otherwise broken). All going well I should get a chance to look at it after work tomorrow.

I think I have around 150 mains in mine running twin K&N pods. Anything smaller than that would be too small I reckon. Best to go in rich anyway!

    Thanx Si.

I am getting good at taking the carbs in and out. Now I just need to get a pass for a few hours in the shed to make some progress.

    Factorypro stage 3 kit fitted.

#147.5 jet , 3rd clip on needle and fuel screw 2.5 out and started the ole girl.
Eventually she coughed to life although a bit rough on the choke. And again as soon as she get some throttle she dies.

I did notice if I get her off the choke and give her some throttle over 2.5k she responds to the throttle but only if I keep the revs up. If I let the revs drop she dies.

So she won't idle properly she dies a death without the choke or below 2.5k.....would this be anything to do with the pilot jet? Or any other ideas how to resolve?

    Cheers in advance guys

    Coming along well.

Putting some focus on family is never a bad thing - and certainly much better than losing your family. And kids shoot up so fast and all of a sudden they're doing their own thing, don't miss the boat on that. My build is taking forever but I have no regrets
