    My first project bike

Just like the topic on your very first road bike, I thought we should also share your first project.
Mine was a Kawasaki Z650, which had been lovingly restored, and which I lovingly unrestored and made into a ratty Streetfighter. A lot of people would cry these days, but in the day I got so many more comments after I changed it. Didn't do a whole lot, but it was my first go. It had the twin spots, all unecessary bits removed, cut down front guard, rear guard removed and twin tail lights tucked up under the tail piece, drag bars and polished forks and of course matt black. This was followed by a ZZR1100 powered ZX10 Streetfighter, but that's a whole new story. Can you tell I was a Kwaka man?

My first project was a 91 GS500. I made it into a streetfighter of sorts, was kinda cool at the time.

Technically my first project bike was a KR250 basketcase that I bought for $300. It literally had the engine in about 5 boxes and I never got it running (blown crank). I ended up selling it 6 months later for $500 so all wasn't lost. It was still in 5 boxes when it was sold...

My first "real" project was my 1100efe - it needed EVERYTHING fixed on it. It would have been cheaper to buy a good condition runner....but where's the fun in that??

Fuck that thing was a hoot.

My first bike was nearly completed. It was the GPZ 600 fighter that I bought through 'Streets' a member on this forum. I had been into fighters for a while but never saw much of an option back on the rock I lived. Came to Aus, bought the GPZ, stripped her down gave her a good clean up, some new parts and a coat of paint and she came out mint. Serious lack of power but she looked good enough to make it into the ASF calendar so i was happy as.

My 'real' first project that I built mysef was the R1. She was a labour of love and a steep learning curve of just what I could do if I put my mind to it whilst on a budget.
