    Yoshi cams - Yes or No?

    Looking at possibly getting a set of Yoshi ST-R cams for the bike, but not sure if it's worth spending money on them.

    What is involved in installing them and getting them dialled in?
    Will I need to change anything else if I change the cams?
    What's the difference in performance that I can expect?

    Put it on a Dyno before you change anything, then change ONE thing and go back to the SAME dyno.

    This way you will see if there is a change and what direction you are going.

    Only change ONE thing at a time and ALWAYS use the same dyno.

    Buy them but don't put them on yet.

    When you get on the dyno, have it stock and do a run to check the AFR.
    Them slip the yoshi cans on and recheck the AFR.

    hahaha. I've read conflicting info on whether you need to do any more mods to install these cams, hence being unsure.

    Generally Yoshi ST1 cams can be fitted with only slotted cam sprockets to dial them in, the ST2 cams usually additionally require upgraded valve springs. Depending on what bike you have you may need other things doing. GSXR1100M are not really suitable to fit lumpy cams, they have a nasty habit of spitting the shims with some very messy consequences. Which cams are they and what bike are they going into? I'll have a look and see if the recommend any other modifications to use them.

    Have a look on the Yoshimura Japan website, there is an English version, you'll find them listed along with anything else you need to swap like retainers/springs etc.
