The guy contacted me through bikesales, never been on here as far as I know. But he likes the bike as is and is not gonna change anything. He promised to take care of her for me, and he's better as it's gonna be tough to see her go after about 3.5yrs

Well, decided to have a look at the forks while they were out to make sure they were all good. Better safe than sorry I say

Then headed back home to get some more work done. This is where I currently am

However in the meanwhile I have not been able to start the bike as I am getting an error on the speedo. I have started another thread regarding the error message here=> http://www.streetfighters.com.au/for...250#post385250

no idea on the error. but just checking you got the ''breakoutbox with the dash"?

Quick run over a wiring diagram got me this. pretty sure i have most of the breakoutbox done too (still pay to test with a multimeter as we go along as I'm bloody tired)

So is that fork bent 0.11mm? What's the other one like ... I checked mine in the lathe and they were about the same..... 0.09mm was the worst ..

No, the dial indicator wasn't reset actually. I had a reading of 10 thou runout which I assumed would be normal since it's not a spinning object.

Yeah I got the breakout box as well as a multimeter. It's doing neat wiring which is an issue. i also want to try to get a plug which is like the stock so I can wire that up rather than butcher the loom

That would be the prefered way. but isnt the plug your talking about the one that plugs straight into the dash?(or is there one a little further back?) might struggle to find one? :S got a decent range of electrical tools and a little bit of skill when it comes to this.

Tim, pm me your number bud and I'll give you a call. The loom disconnects further back as well. We might see if we could make a custom front loom if possible

Ok, looking for ideas on how to mount my headlight unit. I'd like to keep the forks as clean as can be as well as hide any wiring there may be. On the R1 I had used the bottom mount and used some 3mm Aluminium plate for the bottom and sides, then bolted a tab to the top mount to stop vibration.

On the Gixxer there is the damper at the bottom and the headlight is quite a different shape so not sure if I can use the same method. I'd appreciate any ideas as well as pics of what you have done to mount any small h/lights or masks.

Here's a pic of the bike

And the h/light and about where I'd like it to sit
