    Hey Mick,
I underestimated the number of people who might attend. My mistake. It sure as hell won't happen again.I called Si and got the date sorted which I thought was a start. I asked him how many went last year and neither of us knew. I told him about Long Flat and how many beds and we thought 20 would be enough, with a few out the back. I didn't appoint myself organiser, believe it or not I was just trying to get something done. I didn't know that Large was the organiser. I asked Si about my ideas and he thought it all sounded good so i posted it.
All it takes is one phone call to cancel Long Flat. We still have 3 months to find somewhere where we will all fit. We have a date set, I hope. Now we just need some accommodation. You can rest assured that you won't hear anymore from me.

Right the date stays as it is then.
Large you seem to know the area so lets shift the focus to port mac.

I think the Star is a good hotel but im open to suggestions. I would hope we get something sorted this week.

If your going to suggest a Hotel dont leave another person to chase the number of rooms. Please call them and also ask about parking/ bike storage if available.
Last time I was there was for a funeral so I don't know the area very well.
Port will be the best option over Wauchope because of size and availability of rooms.

We will work on 30 riders.
If you know of a place with a website post it here so we can all have a look.

No more shouting or bitching lets just get it done.
If you have bookings at Long Flat cancel them. We can roll through there for a meal or something on the run.

    So we need
More that 20 rooms (Single or twin share it doesn't matter)
    Parking for utes/ vans
    Garage for bikes.

I dont mind camping, AFR2010 Jindabyne and NFR 2011 cooma I carried all my camping gear on the busa and camped down and back. But Loz (Mrs bob) wanting to come along and with my busa most likely sold by then I would preffer a bed. We are still keen to come along, will wait and see were AFR will be and make our own arrangements if need be. Let remember 1 thing... That AFR and NFR are a chance to get together, have a few beer and say "How the fuck are you!".

    Looking forward to it guys.
Ladies and Gentelmen, take my advise. "Pull down your pants and slide on the ice."

Well Ive sent enquries off to the 2 places listed and am waiting to hear back. Ive chosen them because they are clean and look like they have decent food and secure parking for the bikes.
When they get back to me with numbers and prices I'll let you all know.

If a bulk deposit is required I can put it on my credit card and those attending can re pay me via paypal

I've never been an official organiser. After Si took a bath on ADR09 I organised a run the Bathurst for '10 and Macksville for '11.

By organising, I mean I asked for recommendations from members where to stay, rang the hotel, booked x number of beds and kept a running list hereabouts.

I fucked up with the dates, but I was working in Large Time and knew we had 3 months to go anyway.

So over to you Andy to organise the accom.

btw- I'd also start another AFR thread with the details of the hotels (if they aren't a pub they are near a pub yes?)

And someone better ring the other place to cancel and apologise, he cant be too put out- it's unlikey he's ordered 40 cases of VB or slaughtered a cow yet. As Terry said, we can stop there for a refreshing beverage on the way up or down the mountain to assuage our guilt and thirsts.

Im sticking to pubs because I like to keep things central.
Ive got detailed emails off to the following

    Port Mac Hotel
    Town Green Inn (Port Mac)
    Star Hotel (Wauchope)

Now the Star is looking to be the bet as they have secure parking for the bikes and the manager was a very understanding bloke.
BUT If the numbers exceed 20 there will have to be bunks put in rooms to bulk out number.
This is unavoidable as the pubs dont get the passing trade the snoweys area get.

When the other places get back to me I'll be able to make a more informed decision.
As per rooms If the Star is the best option then single rooms will be offered to members and their wifes/ gf's first.
So dont complain if you miss out because its common sence.

Most of the hotels in the area cant hold much more than 20 people without adding beds to rooms.
Motels are a more expensive option and you got to walk to the pub and this wont allow us to kick on for fear of getting booted. Also the pubs have more chance of secure parking.

Last year we all didnt stay in the same hotel but we drank and convened at one as everyone was within walking distance

and the wauchope rsl is literally 100m down the road too.... and then theres 'the happy thai' around the corner and a fresh fish fish shop theres a motel a coupla hundred further down the road ...
