    4-4 exhaust question

I'm after what looks like a 4-4 exhaust for the project bike...wondering about a balance pipe that links all 4 under the motor...or 4-2-4 ????
Going to see about stamping out 2" supertrapp type discs so I can run 4 upswept cans without frying the girlie on the back.. (she's hot enough already )
I know 4-2-1 etc is best but I'm looking at the style over function...maybe..
Any thoughts oh great collective ??

ok the best way to do this would be to have 4 header pipes then have a small collector then your 4 pipes out thats the best way im sure there are other ways but this is just my thoughts

I'd go 4-2-balance pipe-2-4 , you could just use a set of 4-2 headers with a balance pipe then use the 2-4 pipes off a second set to split it back up again. TI would make it look sexy as, you could get 2 sets of Ti headers from evilbay for fuck all. Cut and tig, Ti mufflers modded to supertrap setup would set the whole lot off real nice.

The 4 to 2 balance pipe would be under the bike, and if you get the 2-4 close to the balance pipe from the front and rear it would prob look like 4 to 4.

The 4 to 2 with balance pipe would prob give you a broader torque over a wider range than 4 to 1 but with less top end.

Why not go traditional 2 up 2 down 4-1 to get the performance,
then back into 2 with dual can's on each side.

Collecter will get you the best performance
(I was told why "flat" 4-1's arent great but cant remember now)
and if you keep the pipes after a decent size it wont be strangled.

Your still carrying the extra can's/weight in the name of vanity,
but hey, whatever floats your boat....

The cans will be minimalist...4of .maybe 200mm long x 50mm od ...probably lighter than most twin muffler systems.
I can experiment on my current bike to see what works

Why not go with twin 6" diameter chrome vertical Truck Stacks with turnouts & raincaps?

I'd say closer to the look of the 7 yr old Z1000's as they had smaller pipes. New ones are just ridiculous.
