    Gsr1300

For a few years now I've been wanting to build a fighter, I bought a GSR1000K6 a few years ago to do it, fell in love with it and failed to fighter it. Bought a Tuono with the same intentions, have probably spent too much money on that bike and failed to fighter it. So I thought what the hell, I'll buy the ugliest bike I know of with a decent engine and go from there.

So I picked this up in June.

I rode it about 200ks stock and then parked it in the shed.
First off was the tail, I hate the stock tail.

Comparing the stock subframe against the new and modified subframe

    Subframe mounted

Fucking around with the lights so they plug into the stock harness.

While I was doing the subframe the mail man turned up....... pretty good of him considering he lives here.

    Back to the wiring.

    Plastics fitted.

New exhaust bracket, well it only has to get me 5ks down the road to the man with the tig to make up a good one.

Just waiting on the headlight to arrive and I'll start the front end.

    Dash from a GSR600

    BXP risers, some steel lines.

Well that's it until I get some more parts. I'll rough it up and then tidy it up once it's all together.

    Colour............???? Dunno, green is nice.

I have a technical question (one.... more like 100, fuck I hate wiring).

Will the reg be ok zip tied in here for a while or does it need to be more open and securely mounted.

Rad's a little messy on the other side.
Jim Mott helped a lot with mine,
hose normaly comes out the front and go's down and under.
I had the stub cut off and moved to the rear.

I was just out the shed fixing the reg, and looking at the bike and that Muzzy just about reaches the other side of the shed hey, someone said long pipes make more horse power, fuck me it'd have to worth about 20hp more if that's the case, it will have meeting with the cut off saw very soon.

Fixed the Reg, couldn't rest until I fixed it.

i had my RR (when i had the 2nd gen Tuono tail on my RSV) mounted on the outside of the subframe on the right, ziptied to that lattice type bit. It was fine for the 7000 odd km's that i had that tail on for.

BTW, looks great IMO. though i think the tail could be a little higher.

Lucky pete didn't buy my tail either, or you 2 would have been same like same. :P

Good stuff Stu! just a suggestion but i would make a bigger heat sink for the Rect/regulator and again only a suggestion but to tidy up the wiring just extend the switch block wiring( rockets or billywhizz..had that idea) and you can usually get everything under the throttle bodies...good luck looking good ..

xa-mont, the reg is a bit bigger than that area, even the bolt holes lined up, only by a few mills but it stops the plastic from meeting up properly with the undertray, I wanted to grind a bit of the reg it was that close.

I'm in two minds about the tail height, Josh hates it but I was thinking it's not too bad as it is horizontal to the ground, it flows ok but is fractionally lower than the tank..... maybe I just need another tank.

Kev, I was going to hang onto everything just for another month or two until I finish, just in case it goes to shit. I'll list everything I don't use on here once I finish.
