    Garage Bench..

I knocked up a bench last year at work using some steel and plywood I had laying about and put some pegboards and cabinets on it.

Well I was sitting in the shed the other day thinking hey I might add some to that bench just for something to do, but before I did I googled around for a free CAD program I could fiddle with to see what I could come up with..

I found Google SketchUp and had a play and I reckon it was pretty cool..

    Here is my current bench..

Here is what I had In mind using SketchUp..

Using the measurements from Sketchup that I had drawn for the corner unit I cut up the steel and tacked it up today, easy as..

Then thought hey while I'm at it make the other bench..

Came up a treat.. I'll put the plywood on tomorrow and new pegboards. I'm also going to fit a 4 plug powerboard and some fluoro lights too.. and the whole lot can be taken apart in 3 parts and fit in my trailer for whenever I move..

Just thought I'd share as I'm doing sweet FA on the bikes..

Nice set up Gitzy, looks tidy and well done.
Its a good motivation for me.

Im going to re-do mine now I have everything at the new house,
Its useable now, but not how / where I want it and I'd love a
heavy duty timber bench and a pillar drill next.

    Good timing-

I turned my grinding/welding bench into a grinding/vicing/drilling/autopsy bench today. It's on wheels so I can roll it to the door, cut/grind/drill shit and I just sweep all the crap out the door...

...which allowed me to turn my workbench into a welding bench so I can start on my buggy-

And yes before you ask- 5 cans for $6) Supercrap kero based Degreaser works as good as toilet duck. It's so slippery you don't even need to flush. Sometimes.
