    Finally got the S4R swinger on the weekend.. woohoo!!

    The ducati swinger is about 25mm wider than the stock TLS, so I'm of two minds;
    1. Use the donor TLS pivot tube and weld onto the duc swinger moving the right ducati swingarm mount 25mm to the left
    2. Get a new pivot tube machined up 25mm longer than the stock TLS to match the width of the duc swinger and machine 25mm of the right frame boss to fit

    Any thoughts / suggestions welcome..

    so u cant machine down the ends of the swingarm pivot?

    i would mod the swinger before frame, tls frame can use all the material it can get!
    Rev the fucker!!!!!

    The duc swinger pivots in the engine, so the right arm would have to be removed and a new support added to mount the pivot tube off the TL. Both options can be done, just which one is best? You're right on trying to not remove any of the boss if I can but wondering how the swinger mod will affect the look?

    if it were me id either make a new swingarm pivot and mount SSSA of new pivot or graft TLS piviot onto SSSA !!

    That's pretty much my 2 options. But trying to work out the pro's and cons of both

    welll if you use the original pivot there is no marking out or measuring just cut and tidy up.

    the pic is small bit it looks like you could sacrifice 12.5mm a side there
    if you were worried about strength get the gap between the two sides joined with a bit over oversized tube welded in (before machining). will keep it all sealed up for the bearings etc too

    it'd be much easier to get a swinger machined than a frame, your going to need to get some welding done on it to get the shock mounts redone anyways yeah?

    other thing with modding the swinger is if you ever need to put it back to stock (defect, selling etc) then you can pull the old setup out and bung it all back on
    Rev the fucker!!!!!

    Your'e a man of wisdom Fimp, I think you're right with modifying the swinger and leaving the frame in tact. I will have to remove the existing mounts from the swinger, no big deal really, cause the total diameter of the mount is only 30mm and I want to use the original pivot bolt (25mm) so I don't have to muck around with collars or getting a custom bolt made up. I can make use of the original pivot tube from the TL swinger. Best get the grinder out
