Introducing New 2012 Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier
the latest tyre in the Dunlop Sportmax range.
(as Seen in the February Comp)
These are Dunlop's answer to a performance tyre that will do everything that a sports bike is asked to do.
From hitting the hills or to taking you to work and as an added plus they are Excellant Value.
From what we are told, Dunlop Australia has decided to introduce these tyres to meet the market demand of a well priced tyre for high performance motorcycles.
If you are already familiar with the Dunlop Qualifier (previous to the Q2) you may believe have already ridden on these tyres but you haven't !
What you may not know......
Now for the technical stuff, the Dunlop Qualifiers are made in three countries and we have only previously had the Japanese version of the Qualifier which was OEM fittment on new motorcycles, and replacement Qualifiers are made in USA. That tyre is being phased out and it has been replaced by the Q2.
Now the Q2 is also being produced in USA. To date this is Dunlop's current flagship tyre and in my opinion, it is fantastic choice for Work, Play or Track.
Now Dunlop has decided to re-release the the Qualifier focusing on the demand for a tyre suited to a little more work than play. This was easily achieved by making the tyre a single compound by removing the extremely soft outer edges suited for track conditions.
The New single compound has been produced for Australian conditions suited to our needs and has the European tread design which is suited for all weather conditions.
The 2012 Quailifer finds it's home in the Dunlop range as a well priced tyre between the Q2 and the RoadSmart, and is rival to the Pirelli Angel ST.
Suited to larger cc Sport Motorcycles available in these sizes
120/70-17
180/55-17
190/50-17
190/55-17
The New 2012 Qualifier is being manufactured in Dunlop's factory in France, the same factory that the N-TEC Slicks and the new SportSmart.
As you will notice, the front tyre is extremely different from the original Qualifier. Hence the centre line in the front tyre for good water disbursement in wet conditions.
The New Qualifier is yet another reason to ride on Dunlops, giving more tyres & more choices to suit your riding demands.
These are great tyres and we will be fitting these to a HAYABUSA gen 1, testing them out and doing a write up review and giving you a full honest opinion at a later date.
