Clip-on to handlebar conversion?

I was thinking of ditching the clip-ons on the Spada for a set of mean looking bars or something but don't really know if it's even possible on my bike. Do you need to buy a bike specific kit? Coz I'd put money one one not being available for a VT250! Or can you get the adaptor kit part, then buy the type of bar you like seperate? Anything else I should know?

I guess if I go too high with the new bars then extended brake/clutch lines, etc would be needed? I don't wanna change the riding position too much, just a tiny bit higher/flatter and mainly for the meaner look of the bars...

There's loads of ways of doing this. Your best bet is start by getting the bars you want. Are your clip-ons mounted on top or underneath the top triple clamp. Take a picture of the current bar set up on your bike mate, wack it on here, and we'll tell you the nest method for you.

Another option - though not as tough as the propper risers/bars you've shown above - is a set of highrise clip-ons from Rob Tingate in Lilydale Vic. A guy from work put a set on a K4 Gixxer-thou for approx. $145.

The upside of this option is that the bike can easily be converted back to stock when it's time to sell.

i lifted this from a previous post i have done..

you could do this... costed me 160 ish bucks in parts and a little time.

bar clamps were 79.95
h/bars- 59.95
bar end weights 19.95
longer bolts 3.20
total- 162.85

time- 2hrs incl dissasembly of the gsxf front end to fit up the gsxr one instead.

Hmmm, yeh if it's gonna cost more than $400 total then I won't do it, just wouldn't be worth spending that much dollars on a cheapish bike... Only if it's cheap and as easy as a bolt on kit plus a bar and a couple of hours in the shed with a few brews. Although it would look oh so sweet with a set of flat bars!

(can't really justify upgrading to a "real" bike just yet as the two fiddy serves it's intended purpose waaaaay too well)

On this occasion I would probably go with Hornet Boy's idea as you seem to have some kind of piggy back clamps set up there. The risers would be bloody massive to clear the fork tops. Are they two separate pieces? And if so is it the top or bottom one which is the actual clip on. I'm guessing the top. Get the diameter of the fork legs and go hunting those clip-on risers. Or there's always the option to rise your ride height a bit by sliding the forks down and then get onto one of our members Stu "Quikdraw" who sells the conversions on his site.
