    GSXR front end's..HELP!

OK, so i've mentioned this on a couple of thread's and asked on
other forum's but im getting a mixed and conficting response.

GSXR front end into Bandit 12.

I want USD so that rules out the early stuff.
Not fussed if its 4-pot's / 6-pots or radials.
Not fussed if I use the B12 or GSXR wheel as long as its a 3 spoke.
Do NOT want to go shorter than i have to,
DO want to keep the cable driven speedo as i want the B12 clock's
so needs to have same size spindle or have a speedo drive.
No problem with changing stem's, lock stops, bearings or making / adding top yolk or raisers.

I know anything will fit if you try hard enough,
but which is THE ideal front end to go for ?

A longer USD set with a 20mm spindle or one that has a speedo drive.
Im thinking late Oil or Watercooled 1100 ?
If so what year / model ?

Check out PP pages on Oldskool Suzuki

    Bike Year Length
    GSXR 1100 93 775

But those ones seem about the longest

If you were in Sydney I've got a pair off a M Model 750 that you could used just to check for length, just 35mm shorter

How did you do that ?
I was under the impression the 03 had a bigger spindle and there
wasnt enough meat in the drive to enlarge the hole ?

Just changed Brother in Laws Bandit 12 to a GSXR 750 USD front end, sorry can't give you exact year but I think it was 91-2?

Used GSXR forks with standard stem (Changed Top Bearing, Bottom same)

Used Bandit wheel and calipers (4 pot Nissins)Bandit and GSXR have the same distance between disc faces but to get the offset to the triples correct had to use the GSXR discs (296 Dia?).

GSXR Discs to suit triple clamp spacing as mentioned

    Same axle sizes

Used GSXR Speedo drive and wheel spacers.

Used standard Bandit Speedo cable in to GSXR Speedo Drive.

"Manipulated" the Bandit gauge mounting brackets to bolt under the GSXR top triple

Used the GSXR clip on holes to mount bar holders (Safety Nut underneath )

Had some spare 50mm Headlight brackets to fit headlight.

    Used GSXR front Guard.

O/All length of forks to centre of axle 705mm which dropped front a tad but we machined some bar spacers to compensate.

Forks a whisker soft (Brother in Law big fat bastard and VERY heavy on front!!) wound up the spring a tad and rebound a whisker.

He reckons it is comparable to the originals but looks heaps tougher.

Just my experience with this mod if any help.

Took about 4 hours and a "Couple" of beers.

    Yep thats to one

I wanted to keep the following

top tripple clamp inclusive of the bar and risers (but will include the orignal one and the clip ons if you wanted?)
Basicly the whole top triple clamp switches levers etc. I will keep the indicators too.

If sold it would include the botom triple clamp down to the tyre.

If there were some parts that you didnt need to save on shipping im flexable.

Shipping might be about $100 but i will have to get a firm quote beforehand.

If you are still keen let me know

Yeah, interested, be good to have either top yolk.
Didnt think the top yolk fitted much else at 52mm ?
    Not a drama either way.

    What about disc's and/or calipers ?
I know my Bandit one's have similar 90mm spacing but not
sure if the off-set on the disc's in the same.

What sort of condition is it all in ?
All useable or anything need work ?

I you want to check on postage (to Brisbane 4161 Qld)
and have a think about a price,
P.M me a figure or a phone number and i'll let you know Mate.

The top yolk that is on there is a earlier one that i got machined out to 52mm.
I can include the original one.

    Discs and calipers included
Discs are good I can measure them if you want but they are legal.
    Not sure about the offset

Condition is reasonable for its age. The only problem is that the right for seal is leaking. The left fork slider has a wear mark where the dust seal has rubbed. I will take some up close photos for you tonight.
