    WTB starter motor GN250

I need a starter motor for a friends GN250. 82 model... not sure if they changed over the years, I'm yet to research the little fella. Anyone have one kickin' around? Haven't done the rounds of the wreckers yet, but thought I'd throw it up here anyways..

    Cheers,
    Duane.

Is the old one rebuildable? its cheaper to replace brushes and clean them up. Usually brushes that have worn or even sticky. These units are pretty reliable other wise.

thanks dude. I'd say it's rebuildable, the old 'hit it with a hammer' trick got it going so she could make it home... first tap, and it fired, so, i'd guess the brushes are just sticky then... any idea where brushes are readily available?

Just give it a clean out file the brushes flat put the comutator in a drill press and linish it then use a small screw driver to reopen the slots and your away.
