    LED accent lights

i am looking into fitting some LED accent lighting to my ride, stuff like under tank lighting. does anyone know what the law is pertaining to lighting. seen it done in heaps of mags and reckon it could look awesome if not done to the extreme. would look pretty wild doing 200 plus at 3 in the morn.... what the fuk was that ...! 2wheeled L.F.O.

They're pretty much entirely illegal. The law used to be that it was illegal to have them on when the vehicle was in motion, but I and people I know have been done while parked in car parks etc.

a few years ago i got done 4 havin washer lights on my car, i looked up all the rules etc on the rta website. there is no specific law against havin extra lights on your car/bike except for :RED lights must not be fitted visible from the front of the vehicle, and they cant flash. However, cops r cunts n they will fine/defect u 4 it anyway. They will prob just write it up as a 'distraction to other road users' like they did to me. If its written up as 'illegal lights' or something like that, u can fight it in court, but prob not worth the hassle......

There's nothing in the RTA guidelines on the website:
    http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registrati...i/vsi_dl1.html

And nothing in the motorcycle modification guidelines either:

These guys will book you for it every time:

The little known "anti-yanking" laws were introduced alongside the less than popular "anti-hooning" laws. The latter saw a lot more media coverage due to the threat to public safety as opposed to the formers ability to merely threaten public decency...

Don't know what the law is but I know what it fucking well should be. I feel dirty just reading this thread.

Well I'd just sit there and take whatever fine they'd give me, then take the fine straight to the Department of Transport. Hopefully you get a lady, then sweet talk the poops out of her and if there's black and white to back it up, she'll make the fine disappear.

My brother used my name to get himself out of a fine while I was overseas (the c*nt). I got screwed to a pole for it when I came back and chatted up DOP lady and in about 2seconds it was sorted. From my recollection, I don't even think I brought my passport to prove it. But I'm sure they're just glad to talk to someone who isn't an asshole, which I'm sure they get a hundred times a day...

    Make more noise.

At least if they hear you there's a fighting chance of survival.
