    slabbie project (on a budget)



    started with this.


    set to it with an angle grinder and various other tools.


    soon ended up like this.


    much polishing (not recommended)



    engine out.(after much swearing and destruction of airbox)


    engine after a little lovin,


    custom gear shifter fitted.


    the story so far,triples fitted with bar mounts,awaiting cbr 929 tailend arriving soon (if all goes well).

    unfortunately no, still waiting on funds for the tail end. saw that 04 r1 tail in bits for sale thread which got me thinkin but i think i'll stick with the 929 tail mainly cause it's complete and i'm finding it hard to source aluminium out here in bum fuck hollow.

    o.k, so i finally got my funds togeather and purchased this tail end, just gotta work out how to attach it??? got it from pakenham motorbike wreckers, i said i'd put in a good word for him. anyhow they posted it out quick smart and i was impressed so here it is so far, just waiting for seats to arrive so i can see where to join it up. i reckon it'll look pretty sweet though

    ha ha ha new swingarm, not in the budget yet but im working on getting it running at the moment. im trying to target oct moto gp. but who knows.

    finally had some time to spend, and resourses available, so i've made a little progress....










    hopefully get a fatter wheel for the rear and work out where all these other leftover bits that i'll be fucked if i can remember where they go. if i cant work it out theyll go in a box till something dosen't work right and i find the spot for em.

    Mate ive have a very quick question for you in the pic where your doing some welding your using a mini mig yeah?????

    And your doing alloy welding yeah??????

    Are you using a gasless alloy roll like you can get for a mig or are you using a gas bottle rthat i just cant see.?????

    Loving your work on the bike by the wayalways had a soft spot for slabbies.

    damo, it's actually a mate of mine doing the welding, the welder in the pic is a remote , she's a lincoln diesel gen set welder setup running alum gas, argon i think.
