I dropped into Gibbo's shop today to pick up a couple of ZX9 fueltanks that Gibbo's offsider Harry was repairing for me (I wanted a GOOD job so I waited 'til Gibbo was away until I dropped them off) & I noticed Gibbo was looking very pale & unhealthy, I asked him if he was OK (I didn't really give a fuck either way but thought I should be nice since I hadn't paid the bill yet) He said he was feeling really crook, no energy, not eating or sleeping properly & a few other symptoms.
I recognised the symptoms immediately (I suffered from a similar ailment a few years ago) & threw him straight into the car & drove him to the closest hospital quick smart.
The Doctors ran some tests & the results confirmed my suspicions - Al was suffering from a serious case of HDS or Horsepower Deficiency Syndrome [:0] The Doc said it was a good thing that I got him there so quickly because if the disease was left untreated for much longer he was in danger of buying a Scooter or worse... a Harley. [B)]
He got a referral to see a Specialist (Phil Tainton Racing) but I didn't bother taking him there... I knew what he needed.
I let him go for a spin around the block on my ZX9 & when he got back he was like a new man - except he was complaining of a sore neck & shoulders - but the effects of the Kawasaki ride will wear off in around a week so he needs a more permanent solution.
So ASF brethren, a call to arms is needed to save our brother from a [u]slow</u> & painful death.
I propose that next Friday night after work, we assemble at Dodgy Panels or whatever his business is called in sunny downtown Scoresby & remove the HDS causing 750 motor from his Gixer & install the 1100 unit that he's had lying around for months. In the name of self help, he's prepared to help us to help him by supplying some Neck Oil to anyone willing to help get the job done, we might even be able to harass him enough to cough up for a pizza or something as well.
I know I can count on Deano, Shano, Latheboy, Huey & a few others to pitch in, if you feel you have the skills to help save Gibbo's life, feel free to lob up as well, it's a good cause... well... it's a cause anyway.
Friday 4th July Black Edge Auto Body, somethingorother Scoresby Rd Bayswater, 6pm onwards.
See youz there.
