Castrol EDGE Jamboree 25-26 August 2007

CASTROL EDGE JAMBOREE LAUNCHES, ENTRIES OPEN

For the 1st time in 16 years, the Jamboree has a NEW Naming Rights sponsor. We have great pleasure in welcoming Castrol EDGE as the 2007 Jamboree Naming Rights sponsor. As many would know, Castrol EDGE is no stranger to the Jamboree and have been involved with the event for a number of years. Castrol's EDGE range of oils is specifically designed for the Import Sport Compact Market to provide the maximum protection and performance of these hi-tech turbocharged engines.

Castrol not only supports drag racing events like the Jamboree and the Winter Nationals, it also supports many Sport Compact racers with names like Pac Performance, Advanced Performance Centre, Theo Woollett Racing, all benefiting from Castrol's ongoing support of our sport.

The Castrol EDGE Jamboree plays host to the 5th & Grand Final Round of the 2006/2007 Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series. With this being the last Round of the Series and over $25,000 in Championship Prize Money up for grabs, the gloves will be off, in a battle to secure valuable points with 10 of the 12 Class Championships yet to be decided. Point’s won’t be the only thing on racers minds with the Castrol EDGE Jamboree being a National Record Setting event, the records are set for a beating and there’s over $15,000 in Event prize money up for grabs too.

There is basically a class to suit any 4-cylinder, rotary, 6-cylinder OHC or 1999 & younger Sports Bike right through to full-chassis purpose built drag cars. Ever wondered what your pride and joy can do down the 1/4 mile? The Castrol EDGE Jamboree is the ideal place to find out and you can do it in a safe environment without the Police on your back.

J17 will be an event not to miss with expected race debuts from Tony Wedlock of Ultimate Motorsport and his Ex Matt Scranton 6 sec Toyota Camry, and Joe Signorelli of Gas Motorsport with the Ex Titan 6 sec Copper Celica. The Rotary guys will be out in force too with Sam Sadek of Pac Performance and his new 20B Pro Turbo RX3, Queen St's Quad Rotor BMW will hit the track again for some exhibition runs and their new Pro Compact R100 will also make it's debut.
