i would be giving him a slap in the gob. 80mph/130kph maybe but not 110 - unless he's got some stupid gearing going on. I know my zx12r is good for about 120kph in first.

If anybody can confirm this[?] fuck me if they can im going and buying one straight away

Yeah im thinking that the gearing is different ( like 12 Said) and thats why its reading that way my blade does the same thing sort of not to that extreme though.

Why not ask him for a ride that will tell you straight away youll know the difference between 80mph and 110mph

Plus then you get bragging rights that hes full of shit[:0]

he wont let me ride it cuz of no insurance but i emailed the head roadtester of superbike magazine and he swears it is definately good for over 100mph in 1st gear, but only about 110 banging on the rev limiter. thats instant ban in uk on a standard bike in 1st gear! cool

Hang on 100mph is only 160kph so how are you getting another 40kph out of 10mph to get your 200kph your not adding up [?][?]

I spoke to a dude i work with has a K5 says about 157kph out of first topped out thats got a yoshi can on it as well.

    So somebodys telling fibs

i said almost 200 kph. i dont know what the conversion is exactly i just know that 100kph is roughly 60 mph, so 120mph is roughly 200kph.it was just a rough estimate so 110mph must be about 180kph. i was close!

    Yep 172kph in 1st gear - STOCK

    That's by the speedo.

The actual speed is more like 160kph when you do the maths on gearing / rolling dia etc.

    It goes roughly...

    1st - 156 KPH
    2nd - 204 KPH
    3rd - 249 KPH
    4th - 288 KPH
    5th - 320 KPH
    6th - 346 KPH

    By the gearing.

In reality they go quicker in 5th than in 6th most times and run out of grunt to push the wind at a genuine 280 something.
The speedo has been reading 299 for a long time before that though.

They are speed limited at the REAL 299 too. This has nothing to do with the speedo.

It limits based on RPM in 6th gear.

The speedo is usually about 8% optimistic.

So when it reaches 299 you are only going 275 and have no hope of getting to the real 299 speed limiter without a 30kph tail wind or some serious power/aero improvments
