It's a fucker mate. Special tools are a rip off. I asked once and he Mal Maconnel was the only bloke who could get them. $300 or something stupid. The answer is a (blunt) cold chisel and a lump hammer mate.

could you make something like the above.
a raound peice of shafting to slide inside the hollow bolt.
weld a "tang" on the side to fit in the half moon cutout.
then weld a nut on the end of the shaft and undo with you favourite spanner.
the "tang" shouldn't bend to much as it should stay captive inside the 'outer' adjuster.

    that will be $50 thanks

Mine came out with the cold chisel and it didn't fuck it. We tried loads of things before that but the old chisel did the job with one strike. It needed the impact to unlock it.

ok i thourght up and drew that up in about 1 minute (not that you could tell)
so the rate is $50 for the first minute and $45 for every minute there after
plus fuel levy of 16% (that shit is getting expensive)
    plus freight $50
multiply that by the exchange rate of 1.5 (queensland dollar to victorian dollar)
minus the streetfighter discount (add $300)
l'll just do the quick math on that
= $465.30 + gst per two hour job.
quite cheap when you think about the quality of my work

air brushing hey- i think i can help you out there (now where is that paint roller and the dulux wash and wear)
