    Wanted - Bandit cylinder block/barrels

    Hi Guys,
I have had a major blow up with my GSXR motor.
Has anyone got a Bandit (1200) cylinder block that they are prepared to sell.

    Peter.

    A nice looking bike.
A bit of an overkill to wreck that one just for a cylinder block.
If it was around in 12 months time I would snap it up for my son who has just got his Ls.

    What size Gixxer?

Why do you want Bandit barrels?

    I have 1052 barrels!

HI Guys, I need the bandit barrels because I run a big bore and want to be left with a decent cylinder wall thickness. Bandit barrels are biggest bore to start with (but will not fit 1052 block without modification). Oldskool - have sent PM.

    You worry too much.

    No. 4 might still fire

Even if No.4s valves were not bent to buggery it could not possibly have fired. No.1s spark plug was so stuffed it was just a short circuit and would have prevented the common coil from firing.

What caused that to happen Peter? Missed shift? Down 1 too many on decell?
    Nasty for sure. [V]

    A very silly mistake.
Accelerating hard on the race track out of a turn. Hit the rev limiter and in the heat of the moment had brain fade and shifted down instead of up.
The engine spun to 15,000 rpm + and went bang. The cam chain broke after valve to piston contact and it basically killed itself.
Hopefully I will not make that mistake again.
Fortunately, the bottom end looks to have survived.
The head and pistons are just scrap metal.

    Peter.
