im just thinking ive taken my mates carbs to kwaka at newcastle to get serviced as he had a rusty tank and it went through the carbs,i cleaned them but no matter how much i tried they keep flowing fuel out the top !! long story short i worked out the 2 float valves "needle to most"have a nick in the rubber!!! i just dont have the time to do so i dropped them off but!! the fucking air box on the 84 model zx900a "just a rebagded gpz900 if you ask me is a bloody pain in the but and the 4 x rubbers are fucked so!! me thinking get the carbs re jetted to suit the pods?? and both problems solved.
hey fimpy in a couple of hours when the handbrake gets home from work ill duck into the garage and measure the old rubbers!!

Indeed you will need to change the jetting and prob the neadles position or profile , and you will prob loose power somewhere in the rev range probably right in the meat of the torque band, Not trying to convince you not to do it (the opposite really I love pods myself) Get someone who knows what there doing to retune the bike with the pods or you will regret it and go back to a air box is all.

Be aware fuel economy will suffer a little along with some part of the power curve , Bike manufactures spend millions on air box design for a reason.
