Time for some TLC for the Gixxa.

First off time to clean up the back of the bike a bit. Old vs new. Slightly different...

Looks a bit better now

I've always hated having the temp sensor on the front of the radiator, so I asked Ben to machine this up for me so that I can relocate the switch
http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/x...psxj3hievh.jpg
Raditaor has copped it a bit lately some time for a freshen up as well as installed the new plug where the switch used to be

Radiator rubbed back and given a fresh coat of paint. Gone back to black this time round

Forget the dirt on the bike, but here it is fitted to the bike

And the standard hole in the radiator now plugged and painted

How much did the temp sensor cost, Jules? If you don't mind me asking.
Looks heaps better.
Looks great mate.
looks good mate !!
hey I know this bloke that does number plate surrounds !!
The billet fitting.
$260 delivered. Machined and anodised. Included the plug for the radiator as well.
Fitted the PCV on the bike last weekend and took it for a spin. Now need to take it on the dyno and get it tuned properly.
I'm sure I've asked before but can't seem to find where. Who do you suggest in Brissy for tuning a bike on the dyno?
Decided to get my suspension sorted out and had a set of 9.5 springs put in and had it set up for my weight. Need to take it out for a proper spin, but feels heaps better already on the short spin I took it on

Did u only do springs and who did u use jules
I went and saw Jim Murphy (superbike suspension city). He's been doing this for years. Nice bloke to chat to as well.
And yeah just springs, oil and set-up was done.
sweet
rear too or just front?
Was is expensive to get forks sorted out ??
I had the front forks (springs and valving) done on my ktm 640sm for $500 at trooper lu's, albi. Best thing I ever did to that bike.
Cooma should be good this year for you, Jules.
New fork springs, oil and set-up of both front and back cost me $370 all up ALBI. Not too bad when you think about it.
Nope.
Did you get your offer around Mardi gras time? I wouldn't trust offers from photographers at that time of year Dan, they might be trying to take advantage of you.
Nah, it was courtesy of Trooper Lu's Garage which surprised me because it was an $800 voucher but they wanted a deposit on booking... Fail.
Gave the bike a bit of a clean up and installed some new front indicators

Have copped a few stone chips along the way, but shit happens. It was built to be ridden.
Mirrors are gay cock smoker......
Lynton. You have such a way with words
Jules. I see you snuck down to Willowbank last Wednesday. How'd you go, and where was the invite???
That looks so tidy mate. Well done.
eloquence is not just a word my freind it is a way of life....
But it don't change the fact that those mirrors are out of place
on a bike built to that level.... That and telling Jules he loves cock is fun
I mean have you ever seen the man he is to pretty not
to love the cock lol
You're just jealous that I'm stealing the women up here aren't you. lol
And I don't mind the mirrors actually.
haha
Went to ASBK at Qld Raceway. Had a blast watching the racing, and got to have a chat with Ivan's mate. Discovered that after paying to get the bike dynoed and tuned by another mob (wasn't too happy with the result on the weekend ride away) compared it with a Dyno dynamics dyno chart and the bike still needs some tuning...

Day wasn't all bad though. Put the bike in the show and shine and walked away with a throphy
:D

Nice one Jules.
When i get the dyno back i'll email you the graph.
You can bring it to work and get it tuned..... oh that's right, your free dyno run card has been cancelled ;)
haha, yeah thanks Ivan. I'll try and do adjustments through the PCV software and see if she runs better.
So bikes getting some TLC again. Clutch started slipping last time on the dyno, so got a new one from EBC. Also copped a fair few stone chips in the paint, so getting that touched up and this time try to get some paint protection on her.

While I'm at it I'm also finally looking at fitting the new wheels...
http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/x...psyw3no64q.jpg
http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/x...psz3gnjaad.jpg
The front spacer is gonna require a bit of a trim to centre the new wheel in and a lick off the outside of the shaft too. The bearings and seals on the new wheels sit flush where as the original wheels were offset to the inside, so need to trim up both sides.
For the rear wheel, at a glance it seems as though it will fit in. However I'm looking now for a rear disc to fit (OD-220, ID-80 (min) & PCD-100). I'll also need to make up a custom sprocket as the new mount on the wheel is much smaller.
