Hi guys i'm a newby here but i'm drooling,
You may be able to get some ideas for future events here
http://www.200mph.net/smf/index.php?board=96.0 (probably have to register)
Any minimum number of posts for entrants?? or can i do anything to help??
I have mates in that area and will make sure i'm "visiting " in Sept.
hey Booster im a member on www.200mph.net no restrictions here mate. The more ASF members the better. Cheers Ozkat
OK GUYS!!!! IT'S ON!![}:)][}:)][}:)]
HERE IT IS -
The event will be a one day event on the 23rd of Sep held at Evans head Airstrip. There will be 1/4 mile & (probably....) top speed runs (thx to the local constabulary;)!!). Runs will take place in pairs or (if you want to) singularly.
There will be a max amount of 50 entrant bikes only - each entrant bike will be $50.
Each bike can bring a max of 2 spectators/support crew/family/ambulance officers.. with them - cost for each of the above will be $10.
As mentioned above the local rozzers have been invited along (they seem pretty cool - even keen! - about the whole thing!), and there will be St Johns Ambulance for all who can't keep it in one piece on a 3 mile long straight piece of tarmac[B)]!!!
I'm trying to get a couple of local hot dog van type thingies to come along, so there should be refreshments available on the day. There is a bog on site.
I need firm applications [u]NOW to stu@austreetfighter.com.au with a pic/specs of the bike you intend to run & details of any hangers-on you'll be bringing. You will be e-mailed an application/indemnity form which you must fill in & return to me. Payment details will be forwarded with the form.
This WILL be classed as a private event - so there will be no ring-ins or rubber neckers allowed. if you don't get your entry in to me in time - DON'T BOTHER COMING BECAUSE YOU WON'T BE STAYING!:(
RAPID magazines Jeff & Pete will probably be there too, so if you want some nice photo opportunities make sure you wear clean undies!!!
Accomodation can be found at a number of local motels. I am in the process of teeing up contact details for all the nearest ones - these details will be posted here soon. It's up to each person to book their own accomodation after that.
More updates to follow soon.
Get your details in to me NOW!!!!!!:D
---transmission ends---

There is a bog on site.

ATTENTION FELLOW VICTORIANS;
Right, who's up for Straightliners?
As us Mexicans are hard-as-nails seasoned long distance motorcycle event travellers (as evidenced by our presence at the Fools Run) I'm sure we can manage a crew to show up all the Walers & Queens.
I am definately in - provided I'm not going alone of course - I'm not rich you know, I have a modified bike habit to support!
I'll be taking my ZX9 racebike which is not registered & I propose we hire a truck of some sort (a dual cab pantech would be ideal), chuck the bikes in the back & share the driving so we can drive straight through, this will minimise costs, preserve licences & speed the whole process up in terms of not needing accommodation on the way up & back.
Bear in mind that this is the weekend straight after the GP at the Island so all you FUCKING PUSSIES who require another leave pass from the missus better factor that in & start your pathetic grovelling & pleading now. I for one will still be recovering from an industrial strength hangover as will most ASF GP attendees if I can help it, another factor to consider.
This is straight off the top of my shiny head so feel free to contribute any suggestions for or against & we'll work out a plan.
Remember - The pride of our State rests with YOU & if you're not there, those who are will talk about you. [:0]
Straightliners - Just like a real race without corners! :D
I'm keen but september is a fairly busy month for me, should have the turbo 500 well and truely going by then.
Will have to start kissing arse and saving pennys.
you got even more mail, stu.
I'm from nsw, and i'll be riding back up from the gp for it. If any one needs a a place to stay in sydney, lemme know.
My holidays are booked so I'm in
Stu mail sent!
ozkat I see your name around a bit! dragbike site for 1 . The 200mph guys have a good setup with the 3 types of competition and points going to a total winner, gives the guy with a bit of nouse more of a chance against outright Dollars (or Pounds as the case may be)
Turbokat i'll be in touch i'm in northeast Vic
Hey Booster, welcome aboard. Your just up the road from me mate, I'm in Benalla.
Ive got about 16Gig worth of free Memory Cards for the cameras ready to all be used for this. Also pulled out the old 35mm Nikon found some black and white, if the light is good enough I'll get some cool Black and white piccis.
I'm planning to get pics of everyone's heads for photochop funning :)Quote:

Great to see all the responses already! Keep 'em coming and this thing may just well turn out to be a success!!
I've been think about the format & this is the first plan -
Start at between 8-9AM & go to 4-5PM. We split the 1/4 mile & top speed runs into 2 lots, 1/4 mile runs AM & top speed runs PM..
I figure if we run the 1/4 miles in pairs everyone should get around 4 runs in (that's with 50 bikes), and if the top speed runs are done singularly then this means everyone should get 2 runs in...
I don't want to run an 'eliminator' type set-up as this is intended to give everyone an equal amount of fun - no matter what they're riding!
I'm thinking about coming up with a formula which includes total run times, number of runs and engine capacity to give everyone a fair share at some kind of 'trophy' at the end of the day....? Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions?
