We, it's been in bits again but back together today.
Fucking shit 23 year old needle and seats give it in.
number 1 carb was dripping the other week so i ripped the carbs off and the runner was FULL of fuel.
Oil smelled of fuel too.... Dump the oil and put some new shit in, fucked around with carbs and them number 3 did the same thing FUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!
anyway i got new parts and then had fueling problems with number 1 again. more FUUUUUUUUU!!!!!
I somehow moved the float height and it wasn't fueling..... all back together and good.
Will have to put it on the dyno to make sure its ok...
I think i'll write a letter to Mr. Suzuki to tell him how "very very angry i am with you" 23 years ffs...
Now that its running i can take it to work and fininsh the headlight covers...
Been a while with not much done, made some headlight covers and a LED front running light under the plate.
Tuning is all good, I have mapped fuel pressure against boost and there is more fuel pressure all the time.
Haven't turned the boost up yet so still 130HP at the wheel
Just need to make a new dash then paint the it, not too keen as it means I have to clean it...

looking good ivan i like the headlight set up it looks great
i was just thinking the same thing rod lol
the race card and flat profile on the forks is just horn
but i wish this bike wasnt sssa imo :-)
Thanks Rod.
Really ozzy? What don't you like about it?
Is it the shitty rattle can paint? The fact I haven't cleaned it in over a year? Or just the shitty standard wheel?
I had been looking at a late model gix swinger a while ago but haven't thought about it much.
Also I've got a wog chrome front guard coming in the mail, should look a bit nicer.
lol like i said just imo cause i really like what u are doing and this is one of my fav bikes here atm
i just have never taken to sssa's, there are some bikes i have seen that it really works on(robmacs blade comes to mind)
but most it just seems there is some thing about them that unballance the look of the bike from the side
yr bike has that great squat tuff racey stance at the front that goes so wel with the light option and engineering then opens up and looks all washed out and soft on one side at the back, all this is subjective i mean i think a dirty zephyr is sexy lol
btw if u want a busa arm russ has had mine up on ebay a few times
btw chome is for chap wearing ass pirates..............
and those mirrors are not to bad for the price are they :-)
Far enough ozzy, ill pass on the swing tho.
Mirrors are great, $30 or $40 ... I broke one and didn't care, just get some more...
I love sssa on most bikes , this one not at the moment. Earlyer in your build it looked more "in place" now the front end has more going it doesnt seem to fit in my minds eye. I dont find it unpleasant , just doesnt seem to flow with the rest of the bike in its current shape.
I do love the front end now , I've always been a fan of your bike. The lights/covers and the race plate all just seem to work just right, hiding the lights at the sides a stroke of off the wall intelligence.
Fuck you cunts, I spent a few hours last night looking at swingers, then looked at swing arms ;)
I don't normally give a shit about what other people think but i must have had doubt about it already.
It is a fighter I guess and ever evolving.
I fell kinda like a lebonese ass pirate. i have a polished frame and carbon fibre..:o I know it was a 90's thing but is it really that bad. those were the days i had a head full of hair and was getting laid every weekend.... i just don't want to let go.
It is a fighter I guess and ever evolving.
so farkin true!
Not being biased but i luv your bike latheboy. Awsome , no nonesense, used daily fighter. Thats what they're supposed to be about arnt they.
The ssa looks great. There is alot going on up front now but you'd have to go all pimped 300 section rear end to compete with it which would be wrong as well. Carry on with it and see. Could change the wheel to a car rim with more metal to fill it out more or even paint with changing colours from front to back to alter the what catches the eye etc.
Anyway mate, its your bike so you just keep doing what makes you happy with it.
Oh and whats your steering damper off?
Yeah i'm keeping the SSSA i dig it.
I have a plan for the wheels.
It's an Öhlins SD, got it with the bike.
Don't worry mr.zxr, I still pump out Poisons greatest in times of need
[IMG][/IMG]Clutch is back together, I went for a cruise on a private road to see if I could get it to slip.
It seems fine on 9PSI and hitting the limiter in 1st and 2nd, I run out of private road.
http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...reenisfuel.jpg
Green is fuel pressure and red is boost.
This is when I fucked it up.

The blue run is from ME putting the wastegate controller on backwards so it was a dead end, wastegate stayed shut.
The clutch didn't slip on this Blue run, i shut it down when i saw the boost line going North... Clutch played up afterwards
Before the turbo my bike made 94/96 HP.... And not such a low RPM, in 10KPH on the graph i've gone from 6PSI to 10 and a bit.
If I run it all the way and the motor didn't let go, she would have been a monster.:D
would have been one hell on a run till some thing when pop lol
love the top run where you can see how well the riseing rate reg works with fuel preasure in a blow though system
She started to hum that's for sure, I almost broke my wrist shutting it down.
Blow through is the way forward.
I'll stick to that theory until I build an injected bike anyway;)
hahaha lol mind you a few yrs ago i would have said you are mad it will run but be a pig and a pain in ass to tune but more and more i see of what and the like are doing it looks like worth a try
I'm lucky that I build Dyno's for a living Ozzy, tuning was not really an issue just alot of dyno time. Free for me.
I did tune each cylinder so there are different jets and needle heights in each carb, most tuners would not do that.
You should do it tho :)
Abli.
I used polycarbonate for the cover, after talking to a plastics guy today i'm not sure if I'll keep the window.
I have bad stains on the inside from standoff/ reversion and it looks shithouse.
Copy paste
"Reversion is the flow of the air fuel mixture out of the cylinder and into back into the intake manifold."
When petrol comes into contact with polycarb it changes it into perspex, which is brittle.
So I won't be suprised if it cracks.
Next option is glass if I'm to keep to window, I haven't looked into this yet.
Another option is to make 50 windows and replace them as they look shit. Not really too keen on that either.
HMM YES I SEE my clear clutch cover went to shit and stained so i redid it with new polycarb again.
by the way im going to use just 1 turbo at the moe as i already have good s hand gt 1543 freelander turbo and an intrcooler etc so im going to run that to learn etc and get timming set up that way i can do set up for penuts lol then if happy then go to twin s
you are better off starting with the correct turbo. if you use a turbo cause its free and then build everything to suit it, when you find out it wont do the job you have to remake everything plus you have to buy the correc turbo.
it is a fiddly job doing it once let alone twice on the same bike after you weren't happy with the first effort. the turbo is the heart of the system if you start with a good base you will get a better end result.
and there is no such thing as a 'cheap turbo bike' think of a figure and double it, now double it again. now you are getting close.
that Plenum is dead set sexy mate
atm im just trying to design a simple lifting bike/fixture table out of 1/2 plate, 100 rhs and 75 rhs and am fast finding that
making shit work is a dam site harder than just makeing shit......
so i can only imagine the time and grey hairs it cost to design and build some like that best with only the resorces at your disposal.
and if you so happen to make better dyno's though their use and your better understanding of them who are they to complane :-)
i have found a wideband data logger in the states ... it logs o2, egt, map, air temp, oil temp, oil press, fuel press, rpm and shaft rpm all this with wifi to any thing with net as a active web page dash and with sensors but only 1 egt sensors costing about $550............and the extra egt can be had for a bit more.
scotty of rapid motion(TOP BLOKE) is the man building my motor and has basicly said its so easy using old sckool tuing methods on the set up and tune ill be useing that i wouldnt need to spend the money and make things more complex than they need to be,
but fuck me thats cool mmmnnnnn set over all o2 then cross reff 4egts at diff loads and rpm takeing into account other variables till you have the over all best out come...........
love yr work
what this man said
yes there are some great 2nd hand turbos off cars that will be perfect in some cases but you need at shit load of understanding that best comes form exp to know when and where so if cost a real prob it can be done well
but is just so easy to buy what you need and in a lot of cases ends up costing close to the same with half the sore head it becomes a very temping option
I was lucky enough to get a defect notice on my bike for NO mud guard/ refector.
Could have been a $382 fine but the cop was nice to me.
I had to make it all pretty and legal for Vicroads.
Looked like this...........GHEY.....
http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...psa775bf89.jpg
Now that was never going to last so as per the other thread regarding the mud guard, I did this.

Red is because ...... Fuck I never told Vicroads I changed the colour. Fixing that now so i can cover it in bewbies and clear coat.
Latest new part is the carbon front guard off a KTM RC8.
I actually don't mind the number plate position, and if it .stops you getting yellow stickers bonus.
I like it too,
i want to do it to my vfr at some stage. How solid is it? does it shake and vibrate, ie, do you think it'll crack?
It's nice and stable, although I haven't had a look at it while riding.
I think it'll get a little shake going from bumps and vibations.
My welds don't crack :D
Meh.
That's so 2008, like the one I had on the Spondon.
That's why i asked about the cracking, actually. I remeber you saying you had trouble with yours.
Yeah cracked a few times.
Ivan prolly wont be doing 1 oclock whoolies like I used to tho'
Ha... I think you're right Mr. Large
If he ate more pies he could bulk up to put more weight over the back end.
looking good ivan its about time you painted that thing i like the new paint scheme
