The best thing about a home made tailpiece is, It doesn't matter what it looks like...ay least no other cunt will have one
I searched through hundreds of fighter pics to make sure the head light i bought was original - decided upon it - purchased it then within a month saw 3 in various differnt sources. not happy jan.Quote:

I like the fact I get to remain anonymous.

After getting the TTR semi reliable (just needs a tuuuune) I've been getting back into the ZX10. Redid the tail unit and bought a Motogadget to fit under the Jason facemask.

It's going to take a shitload of work yet to make up plates over the top and exhausts to suit.
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/for...7789655699.JPG
Not too sure about the air inlets for the tail unit....Look abit like a cartoon character..
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/for...7789648257.JPG
with the exhaust are you having a crack yourself cos it will be a fair task by the looks of it mate good luck with it all
I've got to try and run a pipe up to here
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/for...7789657036.JPG
and make a boxy (but safe ;) ) muffler setup and align the whole thing so it ends up looking like
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/for...6504630168.jpg
I reckon I'll call on Ben [8D]
maybe you could make use of a CBR undertail exhaust and just modify it to suit but it would still be a bit of fucking around
leave the vents mate, but maybe make the corners less rounded
the rest of the tail is pretty aggressive so run with that theme ;)
I am staggered beyond belief at some of the innovative stuff I see on this site, and the clever blokes that seem to be able to turn out one-off’s at the drop of a hat.[:0]
I look at my bike with its bolt on bits and bobs and think it looks fantastic, and because I bolted it on, I am the bollocks. Then I take a look around at what you guys are up to, and I am suddenly brought back down to earth with a bump.[B)]
I’m humbled by you guys, and any time I feel myself getting a bit big headed I log on, have a little wander round, and think to myself, “You Know Nothing Cunt” [:o)]
You guys are in the Premiership of bike building. :D
Good going there large one. Nice to see some progress on this beastie.
As fimp says leave the vents - as soon as you get some grills in there it will look the shit.
Lookin good, Large. But, have you thought about how you're going to throw a leg over that tail-piece? :D
Why does the thought of you wearing this disturb me so much? vvvvvvvvv this vvvvvvvvv:

"Chainsaw Death"

Large, what is the product name of that blue foam stuff you use. Do you layer your fiberglass over it like a plug. If so do you coat it to stop the chemicals in the resin melting it.
I have a gap between my tank and my seat and I have been advised to add foam to the seat but there is not really enough covering to add foam then fix the cover bact to the seat sub-frame.
I was thinking perhaps I could sculpt a bit of that stuff and make a fiberglass tank protector to close up the 10 to 12mm gap.
I would value you advice matey
Regards
Jon
I think that may be the one of the funniest things i have seen. But i dont get out much.Quote:
One of your best Dan.
PS Front end looks chunky Rich, nice. I think it has enough bulk to get away with no plastic. Go with lights only and let it all hang out. Might be more work keeping the wiring tidy but it will be worth it.
hey large, just cruising the boards, your looking good big guy, cant wait too see the finished artical,,,i am in the middle of a build, just stuffed in a vfr 750 arm, and looking at wheel options, thats a decent choice,,and those yokes are streetfighter porn, utterly jealous man,,,,good luck with the build,,ill be keeping a close watch on this one,,as for us poor bastards here in the UK, its hibernate in the shed time,,,
It's literally called Blue Foam or Extruded Polystyrene Foam.Quote:

I bought it from a place that molded fairings to go on truck cabins, but that was a while back and I cant remember exactly where it was.
Do a google search on "Blue Foam" and you'll find modellers talking about it with links to various manufacturers. It's used by plane, train and (maybe even automobile) modellers.
It comes in sheets of 2400 x 600 and widths from 12.5 - 150mm or something so it may be a bit much for your needs.
Someone here tried using that foam in a can that you use to block up holes in your house to mold up a tank a while back, so that could be an option for a small area.
I used masking tape to protect the foam. Thats the pic with the light green plug. Apparently I should have used some wax/release stuff too [V] any tape like packing tape etc will work if it sticks to the foam well.
looks the goods large
Thanks for your help mate, I'll see what I can find, and never know I might come up with a kick arse rear end like yours.
The Kawasaki just got relegated again............ to the corner.......HAHAHA. That spondon has a few apologies to make i think!
suprised that this one isnt for sale already LOL
He cant sell it cause its not even a proper bike anymore....its just bits of one......;) LMFAO
Hey Large, I made my tank protector today using your Glass over foam method and it looks ok. Thank for the advice matey, takes me one step closer to paint.
