Thanks guys i'm digging it. I love making shit for the bike that you can't buy.
It's 6mm polycarbonate.
I don't know what to do with it now, put it back on or leave it in the house so i can look at it :D
Maybe the bike should come inside.

Nothing I write can communicate how impressive that is.

thats a good feelin for sure Ivan, but this plenum realy is beautiful
That plenum is trick. you've spent some time on that, and imo it's time well spent.
All up i think there's about 20 hours in the 7 parts to make the plenum.
I was thinking about put one of these stickers in the window.

Zombies or the stripper.
Time of an update.
I blew the gear box again and almost went under a bus because of it, that was exciting.
When i rebuilt it the first time i missed the wear on the shift drum and it was jumping out of 2nd.
Oldskool worded me up as to the problem and i got some new parts in the mail.
Deano helped out with a couple of gears too, so with a week to go until the drags she looked like this.

I got it back together and running and did a AFR check on the dyno, all good so a drag racing we shall go:D
That shit is so much fun, best was 11.35 @ 120mph.
I need to harden up abit of the line, but with a few people asking if my gear box would make it i was a bit soft. Fuck you TK.
Looks like this at the moment and Gibbo has given me a cool idea for the paint.

Power is 130HP at the wheel, i started with 92/94 at the wheel.
http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...50TAFRVsHP.jpg
I'm getting 40HP from 7PSI with only retarding the ignition and about $1000 in parts.
The theory is 1 bar (14.7PSI) will double your power, so 7PSI should be 45HP. Close enough i reckon.
I have tuned it with EGT's in each exhaust port and a AFR meter so i could tune each carby. The 4 carb's have different jets and needle settings to get the afr right, I could lean it off a bit but being a oil cooled motor i'm happier keeping the cylinder temps down.
When i first tuned it i had the interia set up wrong on the dyno (4wd Dyno), thats why it says more power in the last graph.
I also did a graph at 5PSI just to see the difference.

That's all kinds of awesome ivan I love it give yourself a slap on the back mate ...not a pat a slap cos it's more hardcore
Nice work. love this build
Fuckin rad dude! I dig it. Well done!
Hi Latheboy,
Just read your thread through. Mate WOW. You do some AWESOME work Bud, your now officially my hero.
Hey, we ort to start the turbo gsxr750 SSSA owners club,(thats what all the cool kids are doing) only where ever we went i'd have to hide mine under a sheet, because like Yella so ellequently put it, mine looks like a TURD in comparison.
Love all the one off machined parts, keep it up
Your motor the 749cc looking at the clutch cover or is it a 748cc short stroke?
:D
Thanks nigga's ...
It's the big block slingy, 749 it is.. none of this small block 748 shit ;)
We could start our own forum and everything haha ... Turd is a bit harsh i think, i dig both Yella's and your bike.. Something to do with the homebuilt turbo i reckon... RAD
Mate, just wondered what spec, or at least what AR your T28 turbo is? Your dyno graphs look real good for such a large turbo, and i'm just gathering info for a possible upgrade to mine in the future.
Cheers
Slingy
I thought the turbo was off a fully sick skyline but EXBEN told me it's off a Silvia so it's a bit ghey.
A/R.42 on the compressure and .48 on the zaust side
Thanks Pete
Cheers :D
I would have said skyline cause I thought Silvia's had .64&.60 ar t25 on the s13 .64&.60 in a t28 on the s14 and the same again for the s15 except ball bearing (gt28r or gt2560r)
Maybe i heard wrong, wouldn't be the first time....
Cool as, the bike is a bit more fully sick again...
It's my understanding that the .48 was used on the 180sx silvias using the CA18 motor, I'm just going by what I've been told as I don't use these turbos.
I have one of those ca18 turbos here. Came off my bike before I went to the gt28r
They are in the t25 frame (only a circlip holding the comp cover on) and have the 3 bolt outlet where Ivan's is the 2 bolt outlet in a t28 frame ( should have 4 or 5 bolts holding the comp cover on).
I think that's how it works anyway
Yup it's a T28 and it has 6 bolts for the comp cover and same for zaust side.
It's the best daily bike ever, but seeing as i've been riding it i cant call it a streetfighter anymore;)
Sounds like you have a commuter bike now
The little t28 like yours Ivan was often part of a pair on a twin turbo setup
they were not known for reliability when turned up in there std fitment, but if not pushed they last a long time, and spool real fast with super light ceramic exhaust side
all the ceramic exh factory turbos dont like over 1 bar boost (14.7psi) from what have been told over the yrs is that tubine
is sort of guled and pressed onto the shaft and have a habit of spining of with the extra temp at over a bar. this btw is just rule of tumb and just what i have been told over the yrs.
i have heard the same lynton
New headlights, brackets are rough as bro but it gets them mounted were I want them for the moment.
I'll be remaking them with a cover or the top.

http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...9/IMAG0011.jpg
that's a cool different approach. how is that for legality?
I'de probably want both for low/high though so that you don't have a huge black spot on the opposite side of the low beam.
I love this thing!!!!
Lights look awesome there mate.
the lights look fucking cool, and so does smiley the psychotic button.
thumbs up for the lights , the whole out side the box thing and that
thats cool ivan you fag
yep original is good, roadworthy? I guess depends on who certs it?
Well there goes that idea I've had in my head for ages. It looks as good as I thought it would. As far as roadworthy, technically it wouldn't pass because the light is obstructed from view on the opposite side.
but I doubt you'd get pinged for it.
Gibbo said the other day about the roady issue, i might mount one of the light up with the brackets the other way so the lights are more forward.
I need the Smiley, it tells me to do bad things
Great thread.
Great build.
Excellent.
Love it.
The headlights do look great there, very original. Instead of moving them forward, maybe a low beam on each side, and a highbeam in the middle would work. Could maybe squeeze the highbeam projector under the bottom triple clamp?? Nice work so far!
No, no lights in the middle.
I've wanted to run a race plate for ages for the nice clean look infront of the froks.
The lights are off a fully sick madass sach thingy and have the magic E mark which is a first for my bike:D
Didn't move the lights i got drunk instead, got to have a think about the possition froward or back.
Thanks guys, I build what I want and try to be different
Love the race plate look.
