Lookin good Rod - can I bring my salad over! ;)
I got a little concerned when I checked my oil to find the glass all milky.

When I dumped the oil It wassn't that bad, maybe a little lighter in colour then it should be.

When I removed the internal clutch cover I found where the milkyness came from. However; I'm at a loss to where the moisture came from. The only thing I can think of is maybe some water got in there when I swapped covers about a month ago.

I've checked the water pump and it seems to be fine and I'm guessing if it was a head gasket or cracked head I would have other signs and symptoms also?
I haven't put back together yet, I have to get new gaskets this week for the clutch cover and internal cover.
if the rad is bubbling when its running its the head gasket
Cheers Weasel, but the only coolant problems I've got at the moment is fluid from the overflow is not returning to radiator. But it's not overheating. I've flushed radiator, fitted new cap and inspected water pump.Quote:

If it was head gasket wouldn't the oil that I drained from sump be more milky?
Some bikes get milky oil from only being used on short trips. The oil heats up and then when you shut the bike the oil absorbs water (through condensation) as it cools. Next short run is not long enough to evaporate that water, and shutting it down absorbs more, etc...After a few weeks of this the oil is milky.
Probably just needs fresh oil and a long run.
water from a blown head gasget wont turn the oil milky as it doesnt leak in a large volume and most normally finds its way into the cylinders.
unless it was a catastrophic failure. If the rad isnt bubbling like a spa then im with hillsy
Cheers Hillsy, I thought of condensation however; a few time a week I ride it from Sydney to Dapto (90km each way) and less than a month ago I rode it to Jindabyne for the AFR.Quote:

The majority of the milky oil substance was trapped between the external and internal clutch covers so I'm starting to think that water must of got trapped between the covers whist it was off the bike a couple of months ago.
It couldn't have originated from between the 2 covers could it?
I don't remember there being any liquid in there when I sent it, as luck would have it, when I went to order the gasket to take mine off, they had a clutch cover at the wreckers that looked in better nick anyway so thats the one I sent you - so maybe it had some water/creamy stuff in there from the last bike it was on? Surely would have noticed it though?
I THINK water may have got into the breather which joins the two covers when I stripped the paint off. I Clean forgot about stripping the paint off before fitting it. The more I think about it the more obvious this seems to be the source of the problem.
[:I] LOL What a Dick head
Thanks again for everyone's input I appreciate it
My Girlfriend Nic is pretty handy with a grinder so while Pete has the bits for painting we have decided to fix some parts starting with the exhaust hanger.

At this years AFR Muz told me the Wretched had a fat arse so after a bit of soul searching I decided he was right, but instead of dwelling on it I decided to take some action.
The K3 sub frame
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1276483182.jpg
I've removed all the tabs and cut off the rear of the subframe where the pillion cowl sits

Once I have modified the Rear of the subframe and brace to fit the new seat cowl it will be re-welded back on.
