Springer forks with radial calipers = epic anti-dive under brakes.
I kinda like it, but kinda dont...
Fimp should like that one.
Got the Harris back on the road today
1170 kit with 38mm gixxer carbs, great result, it hammers

Where's the pick up cover ???? Bloody half arsed mechanics hehehehe.
i like it, but with rear suspension and USD forks
oh, and also it needs clip-ons or GTFO!!!!
:)
So I bought 2.5 new (old) Kats
This one is a 7/11

Gonna stick the donk- after a few mods- into this frame-
http://img3.uploadhouse.com/fileuplo...883ff716ca.jpg
Which the Kat purists prolly don't like cause it's been modded/braced and it fits in the vin number range for the Wire Wheel or Bathurst Kats.
Big bore kit, Keihin CRs, Wire wheels and a MacIntosh swinger is the plan.
Then there's this one.
http://img3.uploadhouse.com/fileuplo...644e351447.jpg
It's a Jap spec 1000. Shinto, anyone?
http://img1.uploadhouse.com/fileuplo...05b66bcc30.jpg
braces ftw, meant to be ridden hard NOT hardly ridden!
The original design wasn't on a Suzuki,
It was done on a 750 MV Agusta.
The bike is still around and has been restored and is on display.
Looks a bit odd but you can see the evolution.

Slowly slowy getting the bits together for a Kat with all the cool bits that were available back in the 80's...

OK gumbo's. Looks to me that the dead line has been and gone and you all (most)forgot:rolleyes: to post up pics of you're finished Kat's.
So maybe as AFR 2014 is rapidly approaching you can use this as an amended date to post up pics of all your finished Kats. With an extra 6 months under your belt there's going to be some awesome examples to look at ;)
gee simon you for one know exactly how long these things take ... cant be rushed of course, theres at least 6 months of look and ponder and scrutinise and plan and then we can start... TK's timeline was a tad off me thinks
In other words im no where near ... umm errr started?!
Lol I been building the workshop just to build my
bike for over two yrs lol
Mine was finished, then it ate a crank bearing. It's now more apart than it has been since I first built it!
cranks are easy to fix .....
I have a crank sorted - it's all the other shit that I discovered while I was in there.
After all the shit I've been through with the old man and my internal fuckups , life is about normal (for a rannga with a mohawk can get anyhow) I've finally started to turn a spanna on my popup and picked up a almost complete donor GSX750 to build the pop.
Tk seems to do a lot of things on his own lol
Ran into these two(yes only ones a kat)from SA. father and son I believe, while scrubbing in some new tyres this morning.
Very tasty
Me likey both of them very much
mmmmmmmmmmmm big block
That looks like about a 1540cc big block with Cosworth forgies, straight cut primary gears, billet clutch & Carillo rods to me.
Maybe you could use Simon's little 1260 for a starter motor. ;)ouch!
Did you buy them RS40s?
How about we make the Xmas drags the new deadline?
And here I am, still being fucked around on an 1170 kit, and having fucked a pair of liners pressing them out of my flogged out barrel so I could skim the bottom of the cylinder to fit a set of zx9 slugs I had lying around.
I seriously give up.
