had a couple of days off over xmas...kids busy with toys...so i managed to get a bit of sh1t tidied in the shed and reclaim the workbench...hopefully i can get back into it in the new year. I have an ace well clock and mt-01 ish light unit to be fitted and somehow get the zx6r tail unit fitted. Still trying to figure the tail unit fitment out .
I have ordered a reservoir, Cant wait to get it fitted when it gets here? I will get another one later possibly with a rear reservoir also?
Get some more pics up when you can
Been a while since any progress...but manage to get away to the shed for a couple of hours yesterday and got the new subbie mocked up...think its right so off to my mate the so called Ally welder.........http://i1153.photobucket.com/albums/...s55b44c0b.jpeghttp://i1153.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4646be85.jpg
looking good mate
Cheers Rod....I'm only hoping the welding for the subframe mounts are up to sctatch to hold my massive bulk...100kg+.
I am trying to slim the ole bike down it would probably be easier for me to loose a few kgs....but where is the fun in that
hahaha yeah i hear ya on that one mate i am in the plus sizes as well
The wheelbase looks really small in that photo. I like what you're doing here mate. Very tidy.
no way short wheelbase is gooood
I am lookin for some stainless headers/exhaust manifold ( depends on which side of the atlantic you hail). I have heard a bandit1200 one may fit.....anyone got any ideas on which models may be interchangeable with my 93 750 wp?? or if anyone can share the dimensions of their b1200 headers?.......dont think I can afford a custom exhaust but if i thought another models header may fit I could start trawlin the ole bay of E's.
So got the subframe welded today and put it in place to see how it looks......

Armed with my trusty ruler, dividers, centre punch, hacksaw and files ..................

I just got to turn the ally into the template.............damn its hot in the garage........ sweatin like a rapist in a line up
The new mounts for the subframe look sweet, The top looks like it will do the job nicely
Maybe trim/grind the new lower brackets you have fabbed flat (at the top right shown in the pic) where it meets the new lower subframe to get a straight weld & to meet up with the shape of the tubing better maybe?
The lower rounded section blends into the frame nicely but the curve does not suit the subframe tubing as much

What headlight are you going with?
