Don't forget to slap on a little anti seize compound on the stainless bolts with nuts and ones going into Ali bloke , makes life so much easyer years later when you need to pull something down to not have it corroded together.

That's impressive Bryn. So nice isn't it to screw together brand new nuts and bolts to freshly painted bits and pieces
thats awesome .....i need an RD for nothin lol
Gonna have a roller with tank if you want it Jimmi. Come get it and it's yours. (GT380 that is).
Had a little shed time. Thought polishing casings might be a good move so made a start.
Began with this:

Bit of a blast and wheel work, ended up like this:

Shit is getting serious now. Split the cases to find a bit of a mess.
Tranny looks fine,

But there is a bit of crank damage. Pretty sure rust is not meant to be there.

Wire wheel that bitch ;)
Bamm, good as new
Had some more time in the shed. After getting hold of another crank, (cheaper than rebuilding one, thanks Simon), I managed to throw a motor together.
Replaced pistons, rings, bearings etc into cleaned & honed pots.

Ran new cci tubes with new filters from crank to barrels.

Had to fit up some covers, just see how they looked. Donk has been in kit form for so long I needed inspiration.

Carbies next on the list. Might need your help with ultra sonic cleaning Simon. I got rebuild kits and bellows from eBay so shouldn't be long before this baby goes back into the frame !
New ignition ordered too !
No problems mate, you know where I live. It's looking good Bryn and I'm keen to see how you progress with this.
New ignition arrived today along with the timing gear. Time to get busy in the shed again !

Comin on real nice mate! Cant wait to see this bad boy finished!
Been a little while and there has been much progress. Had a few days of clean a bit, paint a bit, polish a bit, replace a bit and got to here.

That's looking particularly nice mate. I got a bit of a flashback there and thought I was 11 years old again. Cool
looking good
Wow Bryn, that's coming up like new mate. Nice work.
Coming along nicely mate
I'm surprised a dude that spends so much time in a hospital can get more shit done on his bike than me :P
That's enough for tonight. Beer o'clock !

You didnt buy the extra donk from a bloke named Tony by any chance ?
Dropped in and looked over a t500 motor today , he wanted a good bit more than I was willing to sell out though.
Yeah bit of a strange one , some stuff that prob worth good dollars he wants F all for (there would be at least 2 waterbottles in bits in the shed and 8 frames out the back) yet he wanted top dollar for a t500 that needs a full rebuild
called at a mates while back in England in his bedroom he had dennis Irelands belgum gp winning rg 500 and 2 of his bimota tzs
So, this is where I'm at. Moving house so gonna leave the final fiddly bits until later. Even though I say so myself, she's a pretty girl and it's been worth the effort.

Take a bow young fella, it looks like a goodun now.
Nicely done Brian.
looks good.
Looks good old man
shes is looking VERY pretty
may i suggest some wet&dry on the plastics of the gauges to freshen them up?
Did that Fimp and hit them very carefully with the polishing wheel. You should have seen them before I started !
The yellowing goes right through the lens so that is pretty much as good as they're gonna get. Will look into replacing them fully when time permits.
vinyl paint works its way in and dyes
unlike orange busa riding cocks that just work their way in and wont fucking die lol
;)

Thanks for putting the before and after pics Simon. There were a few parts swapped out and she's not mint. Would like to do over once I collect more parts but it's easier to move house with all the bits bolted together in the right place.
Taken 13 months give or take a few days so not quite in the blink of an eye but seeing as I've been working on the Bandit for 7 years................
Looks more like a 9 year old tham a 40 year old and probably better than the Bandit. I can sit and stare at her for hours, I think I'm in love.
Pics are down, but from the last pic I can see of the tank and front together it's looking clean! Wish I had the time/money/room to do this, especially in 13 months! Well done mate.
