cool stuff scotty
That's mad stuff scotty. You look like your having a great time though.
to be honest its the best fun ive had on two wheels to date , sure the vfr is fun and a awesome bike but there is something about being able to have zero mechanical sympathy and belt the living shit out of a bike with out fear of being caught of punnished for your behaviour and especially to a bike that keeps coming back for more ,i pretty much leave it untouched except for a clean after each meeting and start it up to make sure it goes the night before the next meet and it just goes (almost honda reliability) was never a real suzi fan and dont and still dont know much about the oily motors but those things are strong , and to all the haters of shaft drive (me included) for the dirt it works as it just drives that back wheel straight into the ground only down side is no ratio swaps but more hp will compensate for that , so thats what im on the hunt for now , jets , filters , ignition , 2 stage , sidewinder exhaust and after much research and talking to people that know some people that now other people i found a bloke in SA who is going to make me one of these tyres
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...ps61f6caa6.jpg
im guessing your talking about the tyre
ya fucking ninja
yeah just edited it , i was premature on the go button as per normal
lol
big thanks to mono for sending the carcus to them for me your a legend and now im cracking a fat over this tyre, it is finished and im just waiting for delivery , she looks mean i dont think those 2nd gear launches are not going to be possible now but maybe with some more hp it might , looking forward to seeing this perform

HHHMMM if you haven't changed clutch plates by now you will be, thats fucken nuts!
I know absolutely fuck all about this kinda sport but looking at the other competitors do you reckon you should try and lower it and get it closer to the deck?
I also heard when these (tyres) first started being used people were frying engines.
Admittedly most were two strokes but you have to richen up heaps or risk scorching an engine!
Can't remember the reason why & how it was doing this (its 4 am) but just remember it happening.
Looks great and to think this tyre started out as a slick lol.
lowering is a problem , firstly because of the ruts in the track at the start that tend to get quite deep secondly the top end of the track and the return road are usually real rough and get worse as the day goes on , but having said that with the shaft drive it stands the back end up not really lifting the bike but more shoving the tyre into the dirt , the front end i have pulled the forks throught the clamps a inch or so but with the hieght of the mx tyre on the front its back to the same height , now a lower profile tyre for the front in a mx tread i could find or maybe change it for something else like a adventure bike tyre of a lower profile , a sidewinder exhaust is on the cards this will clear some space under the engine to maybe allow me to drop it a bit more
but i know what ya mean and id like it lower too and a few have said about lengthening it too but i like the fact it still looks bike like not drag bike like , and yes clutch is done with a extra diaphram spring too but its the shaft drive im worrying about
well the tyre took its time getting here on the snail mail aust post andi has eager to fit to see how she looked and fitted some i went and bought some tyre levers and changed her over and bugger it i hits the front of the swinger not by much but enough that it lock the wheel in place between 2 paddles and the swinger , not liking the idea of having to change tyres on rims for different race meets i found another rim but it had no drive gear so swaping them is no biggy but is easier than levers and tyres

tonight weld it paint it fix the centre stand lever since its missing and make some foot plates for it so it stops sinking in the dirt

Right back on to the wench
so season is back on again starting last month with westdale rock run by the jokers MC is always a good event plenty of bike and competition but not a lot of track time , only getting 5 runs in for the day and having never used the paddle I was unsure on how it would go , first run out I took it easy seeing checking the track and seeing how the tyre went with speed , all was good so I lined up for a practice run , with the mx tyre it launched easy with WOT in 2nd so I tried that at first and this was a no too much grip combined with larger rolling diameter maybe but it just about stalled her on the line
first qualifier was 1st gear but not game to go WOT in fear of a flip or something but instead she went sideways heading for the wall but still managed to hunt down the Harley
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5Vr0X_jHDI
next run after being told to harden up and told that more throttle so she can cut her own line not run someone elses I went for it and what do ya know she hooks up well and farks off quick that paddle is awesome
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVCesv_zl8E
third qualifier was a shitty run on my behalf getting flogged by a gixxer 1100 water job but shit happens , some good ruts in the start line but that usually aids in a good leave but don't know maybe im just too slow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGC4OsMX4tY
so last run was knock out and I ran against class winner and he just left me behind but she has got some go that thing putting me on the trailer and sending me home
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuc3Grc0uP4
but I was happy last time at the track there it ran 9.5 at 75mph and this time I went 8.9 at 77mph so not much in the top end speed but im definitely getting off the line faster the paddle was impressive but was still getting use to it
couple of other vids from the weekend

Last weekend was the first round of beverly tractor pull and dirt drags , normally this track is hard so I took the mx tyre with me just incase , not a lot of people there this round as they ran it at the same time as Northampton dirt drags which usually gets all the big guns and heaps of familys with kids hogging the track and is spose to be a good weekend apart from the cops and anti bikie crap
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...psdd3b4032.jpg
so beverly brings out some contraptions too check this thing out , sigma 2.6 and auto , not content with the silliness he added a turbo and not only that check out the "clutch" lever its hooked to the wastegate arm pull the cable low boost let her off high boost WTF how does it even run with a blow through setup like that but it went for a bit before blowing the head gasket or cracking the head but a quick trip to town for a bottle of chemi weld and she was up and running for the rest of the day and reasonably quick
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...ps785a761d.jpg
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...psac211a10.jpg
and here is his father inlaws sr500 powered trike , nice work on the rear end and I didn't think it would have enough power but it was enough to snap a cv shaft , another trip to town to use a welder and he was back out there
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...ps402bc894.jpg
tractors everywhere mostly ford powered (shitboxes) and one unit there with 2000hp that didn't even know it had weight behind it
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7f152a32.jpg
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2b35c702.jpg
so the drags went well trench picking up 2nd for the day losing to the always quick R1 but he was well impressed in the traction I was getting that he had to be on his game a few times , had plenty of runs all day and got some real fun out of that paddle that thing is awesome hooks up real well and with the addition of a 50/50 shandy of 98and avgas she had a bit more go about here too , so much fun this thing had a ball all day and she never missed a beat
http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...pscf51fe92.jpg
here is all the runs I had filmed
