as for Ozzy being a talantless twat thats a fucking bullshit he and Tommy Iommy r in fact founders of heavy metal as a genre
wat'd been before them? - rythm'n'blues and psychodelic, hipp sound, theyve made an immense step or leap on the heavy music scene!
then, u can find their influence starting from the same judas priest and other hard rock/heavy metal of 70s-80s, as well as in thrash and grundge of 80s-90s, also theyr the whole doom metal inspirers and u can even find in there (i have) the roots of the death metal... and btw the first shrieking vocal which is a 'trade mark of the black metal' was used by Ozzy back in 1975' Sabotage, first time ever! (at least to my knowledge)

i had the same phase in 1993 when heavy metal and thrash metal were exhausted so i listened to the oldies like the black sabbath, led zeppelin, iron butterfly, door, big brother etcetectc
as my one of my little screamers [:I] loved the beatles i had to hear them to, their last albums like strawberry fields r pretty awesome (never heard since then tho)

I never said anything about his singing style did I? Nor did I mention whether or not I like it. I actually quite like a lot of early Sabbath stuff. I was merely making a point that he doesn't compare with real talent. Joplin, Lennon and Morrison were all true artists. Ozzy was (is) a drunk / drug fucked singer. I know that a lot of singers / artists take drugs but the fact that his own mates fired him for being so selfish and hopeless makes it hard for me to have much respect for him.

tho its another bullshit to speculate who fired who /and why/
Ozzy didnt missed them at all and recorded a whole batch of noiciest albums as for the rest of the black sabbath they greatly degraded with every album to follow

I love hard rock and heavy metal but was never impressed by Ozzy. I reckon guys like Angus Young have more talent in their little finger. We'll just agree to disagree I reckon.

neither Angus Young nor Janis Joplin have created anything new in music, the 1st one is a great guitar player (not the greatest one or so i heard) and the second one is a great singer thats all
even the beatles didnt created anything new in the music genres, they started as a 'boys band' playing sweetty titty twisty bitties [:p] for teeny weeny gals which were played by many then... and finished playing psychedelic which wasnt invented by them either

but Ozzy the Awesome and Terrible along with Tonny Iommy did create a new genre 'heavy metal' on an empty spot, without any influence of rithm'n'blues or boogie-woogie or psychedelic (even though later they used those styles in their songs - and did it great), and more than that, thay have founded basis for many variations in heavy metal

im always trying to find out who was the first in something, almost always its hard to establish, but here i'm on the right guess, feel free to prove me wrong ;)

theres also another aspect, maybe its just up to me, but if u start listening the rock bands of 60s-70s-80s, ur likely gunna find that most of them r soundind funny or stupid or old fashioned but very few of them sound fresh as if they have just issued their release! for me, just 2 bands in heavy metal sound so: Ozzy with and without Black Sabbath and Udo Dirkschneider's Accept/U.D.O. even when i listen to Bon Scott I fly away to Oz of 70s [:I] but its my personal perception [8D]

so once again i declare Ozzy is the heavy metal messiah and embodiment of rock'n'roll god!

the same story with the bands i've posted earlier - Sodom, Venom and many more, they didnt play true black metal, just 'blackish' thrash metal, the more astonishing the creativity of swede Tomas Forsberg better known as Quorthon. he factually created the black metal as we know it for 30 ys by now, having founded the one man band Bathory back in 1983 when he was just 17!!! the man was a genius and true metal god, not living anymore alas [xx(]
same with Ozzy, unlike his contemporarie Venom or Celtic Frost, his masterpieces sound fresh as

at any rate u must have all the Bathory's albums rod, he was also the founder of viking black metal and simply viking metal, epic doom metal, also he tried his strength in alternative music and did it great as everything he has done

Scientist's have decide to study ozzys gene's (for real Not a joke!) there justification is with the drugs drinking and general abuse to his body to the extreem for the past 40 years he has had several medical exams and seems to be just fine even in the middle of his BMI index lol. About 10 years ago I read that ozzy's joints (and brain etc) were all fucked up by his drug/alcohol consumption flushing all the calcium out.
