Lols. Mate if you are looking to black the frame and wheels etc in my opinion you need something to break up the black unless you are going for the BLADEROD look which can be cool too....

Yer was thinking of the blade look but also might go with britsh racing green or a red.
havnt seen one in british racing green so why not and yes 2pack mate thats all i use
Yer I was thinking of that colour as all the fighters I've seen I havent seen any that colour.
You will pretty much fuck the needle bearings getting them out. Get a quote on new ones. You may fall over at the price. I haven't loctited any chassis bolts on mine. Most of the important stuff has lock nuts. The rest spring washers. Get all the fasteners recoated. Looks real unfinished with old looking fasteners. Powder cost on frame is easy. Satin black is the go.
What sort of price I am looking at for the needle bearing Deano ?.
Might get it 2 pack painted as I have a mate that might be able to get it done for cheap and easier to touch up.
No idea mate. Give Suzuki a call. They are not available after market that I know of
I got..the brand all balls ones for my bandit not long ago deano
Cool. Sounds like all balls are doing them then.
They sell them in a kit with the seal for the bottom bearing aswell
You talking swing arm or steering stem rod?
needle rollers for my gsxr rear swinger were about $30 each by mammory last year genuine ... odd size so were not available aftermarket.
As for Loctite i'll correct some missinformation. I should post a thread on it as reference i used to sell the shit for a number of years and did hundreds of talks, demos and designs with engineers from working with the defence force to local councils cochlear ear implants car manufacturers mines etc etc etc you name it so i know a little bit about the product.
A Thread locker for general use on a bike I use 243 (blue), oil tolerant ie will work on a rag wiped bolt unlike other types like 222 (wicking) or 262,271,277 which are bolt lockers and generally way too hard and create large breakaway torques and if used in the wrong application can cause issues. There is NO non hardening thread locker, there are non hardening gasket sealers though like 515 518 and non hardening thread sealants , but by design and function a thread 'locker' must cure hard to function.
A spring washer is a 'retainer' By pure design a spring washer will do nothing from stopping a bolt backing off or losing tension but it will/should , 'once in its open position' ie sprung hold a nut from falling off as that is all they were designed to do. Spring washers are antequated and very very low tech, a better version of a simple retainer is tie wire. Nyloc nuts are another but ONE use only, but i would be amazed by how many people reuse nyloc nuts on things like rear axles. They also fuck with torque settings especially if reused. Loctite will not on tensioning fuck your torque settings . But once cured increase the 'breakaway torque' quite substantially.
If you have a torque wrench set up a demo with two bolts and two nuts get the nuts held in a vice and screw in the bolts one with a spring washer and one with loctite leave them for a few hours and then undo... i have a WB torque wrench that shows torque in both directions and the 'breakaway torque' with loctite will exceed the initial tightening torque (once cured of course) whereas the springwasher the torque is typically lower unless other factors come into play like galvanic corrosion etc etc which wont if loctite is used....
simply if you dont want shit to fall apart or come loose use loctite sure it 'might' not without it, but it 'wont' with it if used correctly
any further questions ill be by the water cooler at morning tea ;o)
Hey Mike, can you create a blog with that info mate? That's good stuff. >> http://www.streetfighters.com.au/blogs/blog.php
>> Create new post. Just copy and paste it unless you want to expand on it.
Maybe next time i will read the previous page before commenting lol
Taken awhile but finally got around to it motor painted and ordered bearing kit for bike.
Will be dropping off frame to get powder coated some time next week.

Who are going to use for powder coating? How much did they quote you mate?
Alamo powder coating in Unanderra and I can get frame, rims, swingarm, tail section and a box of bits done for $350 in satin black.
holy fuck i pay half that out in the sticks and sometimes even get little stuff done for free ...the joys of iving in the boonies ..motor is looking good though mate well done
Yer that's what I thought but just around the corner from work but if anyone knows a cheaper place in wollongong area I'm open to suggestions.
Blue, I need to get them headers to you very soon by the looks. There still in my garage mate. Message me ya number and we can work out a delivery time for you.
Just dropped off frame and swingarm to new powder coaters(South Coast Powdercoating) today and got a good price for satin black frame and rear seat brace thingy, getting swingarm and triple tree a mettalic green with a flex through it for $260 and also a good price if I bring back rims and other small bits and pieces.
Does anyone know a cheap place in wollongong area to get forks done or are they easy to do yourself.
What rear shock will fit on my bike as I would like to get rid of the long hose that is attached to shock now and have one where the cylinder is on shock.
Forgive me if not giving things the right name but still learning so let me know where I went wrong.
Well impressed mate with your progress.I've been contemplating fightering my gsxr 750 wp '93 for nearly 5 years now. still havent got my finger out my ass...perhaps i enjoy that too much....
I have plenty of ideas....perhaps too many ideas on what to do but not enough time or cash.
Best of luck with your build ...perhaps ill get the inspiration to do mine
cheers
Kartras
Should do it kartras that way you can design it anyway that you like and not have what the next person has.
I was just going to do a quick fix to get it to riding stage but the bug bite and now it's a total rebuild and it is also a great way to know how it is put together.
The guys on this site are great and will help you if you run into any problems.
What do you want to do to the forks mate?
I was thinking of getting them painted.
I also got a fork kit with the bearings I ordered and while I have them apart I might as well tidy them up.
Would they be hard to fit if I get them power coated.
Does anyone know where I can get a castle nut for my bike.
Will a 96 swingarm fit on to my 94?.
Blue, it may require spacers and the pivot bolt may also be a different size. I am at the moment trying to fit up an 2007 GSXR 1000 swingarm to my bike. It required 3-4mm shim to push it to the right of the bike. Even then I have to get the cush drive milled back and space off the front sprocket to line the chain up correctly to run true.
It can be a bit of a fuck around, but it can be done.
Sounds like to much trouble might stay with factory one.
Does anyone know about forks as I would like to get them done next lot if powder coating.
My forks were powdercoated n they still fit in my triples mate! Was a tighter squeeze but jst take it slowly n carefully, u should be sweet!
It's been awhile I have a couple of pieces put on just to see how they look then will fit.

WOW thats very green! I think I dig it.
i actually quite like that with the black frame. it's a good contrast.
looking good reece. loving the green mate.
Might take some creative colour combos on other components to make it all work, but I'm liking it mate.
green, green is nice
Different, but I like it. All depends on how you tie the colours in with the rest of the bike
Not realy a Suzuki colour green but lets see what you do with it.
