pitty i like kwaka's so much then lol
up date zee germans have landed well one of them any way
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...638600x448.jpg
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...639600x448.jpg
might end up a bit sticky but soon to be shiped off to scotty lol
just have to wait till i can aford to send to frame strightener but when it gets back the build can fianly start proper
not just mock up etc i have a clear idea of what i want it to end up like now and its time to start
if im not to lazy i might doc a bit of this build in more detail because it is going to be a full eng rego bike that will be very close to nothing they can do me on(always something if they so wish)
i havent filled out the right forms as yet and dealing with the dep of transport is like pulling hairs out yr arse but russ has done a lot of leg work for me but there is a form or two that u fill out to see if they will let you rego the bike. Now as i have said i have not entered these forms but the first thing we did was talk to the enginer about every thing i had planed.
this is the plan one zephyr zr 1100
upgrade front to zx14r usd forks and brakes
upgrade swing arm to zrx 1200 and brakes
upgrade rims to gen one busa rims and disks
replace zr 1100 motor with a gpz 1100 unitrac motor etc
all of this is fairly stright forward to get a mod plate some of it do not even need a mod plate
by the look of it it comes down to the way you word things not bullshitting and not being silly,
there is a check list they have on the net (Lo7 checklist) and things like spacing, size and type etc on lights ,the 45 dec on rear fenders etc and as boring as it is looks like if i follow their rules on shit like that and play ball i should have no prob on getting it tho and coppers leaving me alone
there is the f1854 form as well thats needs to be filled out but like i said dont talk to the transport get the forms and talk to the enginer that will do the mod plate for you
this is the lines of the bike i got my idea from and with a shit photo cop with the gpz motor
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...z1100paste.jpg
i want a better finish to the end bike but i want a rider not a show bike so i would like it somewhere between the above bike and this bulldock zr 1100
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...i-zephyr-2.jpg
and in this style colour of bulldock zr 750
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...phyr-750-5.jpg
i intend to use this bike as my every day bike, drag and track and need it to be able to do longer trips, hopefully
i end up with some thing close out of a rare bike that is much forgoten and as isnt considered a classic a much forgoten bike.
That's going to be a real nice thing mate.
Hope so mate but hard thing now will keeping the cash up to it
And still being slower than you and stif on those Suzy things but we
will see lol
Should be a real interesting bike.
Only give away to its origin would be the tell-tale shape of
the frame behind the motor, but most folk wouldnt have a clue.
Always loved the Zephyr and Big old Zed shape and lines.
spot on tony most most people just take it as classic zed and in pics the frame is the give away
but when u look at them in the flesh they are a lot bigger than the z1's etc (tank, hight etc )
and you in pommy land got a lot more of them then we did here in oz i have heard numbers of only 200 + sold here
apart from zee germans the uk sold the most well if u dont count the japs they made the fucking things from late 1990 to 2007
almost unchanged............17 fucking yrs
Good on yer mate that looks as if it's going to be a bit of a stoater. Aircooled's the new turbo doncha know ;)
i always wanted to be one of the kool kids lol
might have to punt the kwaka 2 valve agaisnt yr suzi 4 valve simon but i think yr tune is a bit more than im prob going :-)
btw i didnt state what tune i was going to use, at 1st scotty was talking about useing the old 1463 block and kit he had sitting round and with the right head and cams would have riden as nice but gorilla blocks do suffer from heat bad(they kind of like sub 10 sec runs lol you should see the 1560 billet block he had there fuck yer...) . He had a think about it and would prob go 1170 over bore useing mtc pistons(about biggest before liners and a great smaller motor) but remembered he had a full 1230 mtc liner and piston kit on the self in 18 mm(last of the gpz motors and biggest rods they used but not many around rest are 17 mm wirst pin) that some 1 ordered and never picked up so offered it me at the right price so 1230 mtc forged it is then
apart from that its a stright forward rebuild. depends on how good this crank is there will be very little prep needed as im not spining it past 9500 10 000 rpm . the head will get full rebuild k liners s/svalve etc and some mild port work. the gear box will be back cut some clucth work and a few bits and pieces with oil pick up and pump that scotty says work with this combo and not much else prob use a 19 row oil cooler and oil thermostat . spark will be dyna 2000 and fuel looks like btween 38 and 40 mm rs's
and the outcome hopefully will net me close to 135 at the wheel but thats just a number this motor is being build to still pull from down low and be linear across the range to suit the way i like to ride at track days and on the street
Mate, I like the look of it. Hurry up and get it together
Haha...haaahaaaa....hahahahahaahahahahahahahahahah ahahahaaha......'hurry up'....hahahahahahahaQuote:

sux a cock gay boy lol

Haha...haaahaaaa....hahahahahaahahahahahahahahahah ahahahaaha......'hurry up'....hahahahahahaha
LOL know absolutely what you mean. Sounds like we're thinking/building along similar lines. It woul be good to meet up and pit the two old bruisers against each other but I was told that it's not safe outside Victoria 😄
Ooooohhhh can i play too?????
i think geoff wants in on the act as well there but looks like there really is a resurgance of old skool and i love it
and mine is the only one with a frame not made out of tin cans
btw simon i know y u cant leave vic i know what that type motor from trex costs u cant aford to leave the street never loan the state lol
You're not wrong there mate fuckin expensive bit of work there but worth it in the end............................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................I hope!
well at the local pub or cafe you will have the only one of its type mixed with the way they ride building them like we are fuck yer
its worth it lol
Yes , you can count me in, better get off my arse at some point and finish mine. With the turbo, 93 GSXR and Bedford builds all fighting it out for tool time it gets a bit hard. At least I can work o n the turbo at work when there is nothing else to do.
well thats 4 lol
mind u if livewire spets back into the seen with the injected full on drag motor thing we all fucked lol
I'll have to wind the boost up and see what happens. Apparently my turbo setup will run to 30psi (the motor won't-she go bang long before that) that would make life interesting :D
intresting is one way of saying it geoff lol
yr biggest prob is fueling
i have a plan with mine tho if its not fast enough at the track ill use a progressive wet nos system
you should see the wide band i found that has data logging and extra imputs including ex gas temp and will wifi a dash read out
of log to any device that can load a web page mind you the money would be better off spend else where on project but.........
update talking to scotty i prob wont need wet nos
if i find i want more power after im finished he will change the base gasket for some more comp and just swap out to off the shelf
cams , cheep and easy and more power than i can prob use(we will see lol)
bare bike is at a old kiwi bloke's place to be strightened
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...031600x448.jpg
im waiting to see if i can get some 40 mm plate in just over 200 round. This is to see if i can make a tube bender (not a pipe bender ),
for no other reason than a pro tools manual bender or other brand will cost between 500 and 1000. This is to be able to do russ's
arm in his xjr the way id like to, between us we think we can work around it but if i can and dont cost $ or to much time Id like to do it the better way.
so inbetween tring to make a start on the mill, finish some of the workshop off, fix scotty's ulrtrasonic, makeing tube bender, making do with fuck all work-there for fuck all money and makeing it work with my ex I would like to make the bike lift and work top. I have always thought of makeing one out of the piece of 12 mm plate i have had standing up agaisnt the side of the house for 8 or so yrs.........
did some lines on paper because computers are the work of satain
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...790600x448.jpg
worked out what I had in air rams would be about 8 times short of force i will need to lift the 750 800 kgs
250 bike
100 me
prob over 250 for the 12 mm and 65mm rhs of legs
and a bit for head room just in case
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...30600x448s.jpg
i have 3 of these but one wasnt enough to get car of ground but 2 lifted the rear so i thought about 250 kgs each...
looked up google and found specs and they are rated at 300 kgs each at 6 bar so well short of the 10 tone i think ill need in lift
not to worry tho 20 ton air/ manual hyd jack off ebay for under 150 to my door will do it
oh and just a knife in a tree
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...793600x448.jpg
lol at yr own risk
what you will find is i dont like people but i do like persons
persons get to come into the shed cause they understand the rules and how hard it is to get toghter all this stuff but above all how to keep it to them selfs
people on the other hand get to die in the fucking street for all i care
depends on what type you want to be but happy to have a chat as any 1 that knows me can tell u
i would rather you did i good job on that 400 cause i really like them and think they could be a great thing
and if i can help with some advice im happy to
frame at old blokes still but shane came over on sunday and helped me get the 12 mm plate out from beside the house
funny thing is he is the same bloke that helped me put it agaisnt the house 8 yrs ago when i scored it and thought fuck i could use that one day. out in the wether for 8 yrs and still in good nick sweet
this if i can will be the base of my bike lift
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...045600x448.jpg
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...6448x600-1.jpg
sharky keeps telling me that i seam to spend more time building things to build bikes than building the bike im building them for.......
he is of coarse complety corect but fuck it as a single dad with 50/50 care of my son it means at times all i have is time
now if i could just spend more time working than thinking about them i would be set.........
but 1st a big thank you to tony for his free to good home power hack saw and then turning out to be a top bloke with a wealth of knowledge and experience and some really really cool toys....
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...178448x600.jpg
made a trolly out of some really shity scrap and found drinking can effect your work...
the next day when i went to tack up it wouldnt make a square mmmmmn oh one side is 100 short doh
oh and you had to use miss matched sizing to get the lengths in the 1st place and have no more
well quess just add a bit in, it is just to wheel the fucking thing around out the way when you park yr truck after all :-( .......
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...189600x448.jpg
here it is cutting 100x100 for the bike lift table like its nothing so much better than the drop saw
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...208600x448.jpg
made a tramel so i could mark out on lift table
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...195600x448.jpg
tried it
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...198448x600.jpg
but what really is killing me is how can something as simple as a lifting table take so much design and thought.........
i wish i could use 3d moderling or be willing to go into the pain of learnig it cause last night was about 1 to 2 hrs with drinks to design where the 80 mm roller will be centered in the 75 rhs legs as to allow rotation and be the best way to build easy and with whats at hand so it cost nothing arrrrrrrrrrrr its a fucking wheel siting at the end so it can move up and fucking down how hard can it be..............still would have been a ass fuck but less than this mess
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...198448x600.jpg
some times im graced with a better class
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...170600x448.jpg
and why oh why wont my workshop clean its self
edit missing pic of my pain
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...242448x600.jpg
and i got the frame back from being strighten 500 all in with the work and a parts gpz parts motor he dint want as he was moveing and builds suzi's
so thats the zx gear box i wanted and as a bonus the zx oil pump scotty really likes to mod for the gpz motors
also a spare crank but this one really need a rebuild , plus some other parts and all this means mosst of the raw parts i need are taken care off
I really need to get off my arse and coma and have a look at your workshop. Looks like you have a heap of cool toys in there
I might have shit bikes but love cool toys :-)
Ozz - You heading down to the drags on Sat?
Wasn't but what's on :-)
ummmm the drags ozzy!!!!!!
is it just a test tune night or bucket meet i dont think it will be a national round but never know but yes very correct it should be the drags............
blaa who needs cad when you have scotch and a some good old paper
this is over kill but ended the easy way to make shore that i get enough preload at the pivot fixed pionts
to stop side lash made worse by not wanting to run a gide on the rolling pivot pionts
i will be running plastic washers to smooth out the action
it is just a lift table but for what i have in mind now and into future a good soild base is just what i need
thinking over kill is better than wishing i did....
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...146600x448.jpg
will I ...wont I will I ... wont I mmmmmmmmmmm
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/...psb2ef735c.jpg
Do you really think 12mm plate is going to be strong enough for your lift table? Personally I'd go for 20mm, or to be really safe 25mm:p
[QUOTE=ozzy1100;381502]will I ...wont I will I ... wont I mmmmmmmmmmm finish my project before I'm senile :rolleyes: ;)
