Cool. Coming along nicely. What is snow?
Snow don't know what it is but it looks cold and wet yuck
stay away from that
bike is looking great! way better than the standard look!
just my 2c tho.....
why not redo the subframe to take out some of the bulk (in the yellow circle)
you could do one big subframe from further up and do a canterlever brace (like the bit in red)
as i said just my 2c and some food for thought....

i like the brace where it is kind of suits the build and is a lot more pactical in a out door workshop
he did it like that so he could still use pillion pegs kiwi
All good points. I originally wanted to do something more hidden as mentioned, but Wasn't sure about strength purposes for a 2 up application with the top bar extending that far over the end of the lower triangulated bar. So I just went back to the stockish style which goes most the way back to the tip of the tail. Its kind of growing on me and the bar is the same angle as the tail plastic. also wasn't sure how i would clean up the corner of the main frame by the pegs. probably would have just rounded it out i guess. Maybe next time. :) Thanks for the suggestions.
Once it's painted black as well you won't even notice it. I think it works well. If you followed the red lines you'd have a strange looking 'Y' shaped frame to contend with instead .
Ah that's a fair point, I always seem to think of street fighters as a solo rider setup, I forget people still like to ride 2 up
Yes, I agree. I love the look of the single seat with nice fiberglass kicked up tail. But the last time I had a single seat bike my wife said, "where am I going to sit?" So I figure that will have to wait until I have a second bike for just me or I can convince her to ride her own bike.
Went to the shop today and played. Made the rear wheel spacers and started the press fit bushing for the stem swap on the 636 triple. Finish could have been better but they will work fine I think.

Good on you mate. I am keen to see how this bike turns out when your done. Also very pleased to see others pull down perfectly un-crashed stock bikes. Cracks me up when people suggest my streetfighter was a crashed machine before I started. Love the expression on there face's when I tell them it was a complete running bike when I started.
Keep up the good work mate!
Yeah. I cant leave anything stock. And I got the same thing asking if I did that because I wrecked all the plastic. I said, No, its all still at home in a pile under the deck. But I might start cutting it up and see if I can do a bit of a belly pan.
Finished up my bushing for the stem swap. Just need to get to the press to put it all back together. Its in the other bay at the shop and was all locked up today.

THEN, I wasn't patient enough to wait until next week to press my stem in. I went and got out my cheap pipe bender and found a way to use it to press the stem back in. Worked great.

On the piece I made I moved the lip in deeper to allow the stem to press farther in. That way it would put the place for the lower bearing right at the top of the triple since this triple is a lot thicker than the original.

I think the old Bates headlight thing is so old now that it may be cool again?
