i bought my 1st gsxr 1100 w last june,wasnt that impressed ,it was a one owner except it was rough,forks and rear shock n o oil, small dent in tank,bald tyres,just outta reg,but stock as a rock ,was heavy as ,i sold a fireblade,and couldnt get used to the heavy mother,,so i came here to get ideas ,,just rod it and after all the weight taken off and 4 into 1,new rubber rebuilt forks ,new rear shock,new fuel tank,vtr1000 arseend ,rentals,risers,custom and hand made parts,and losing almost 58kilos this bike is a fuckn rocket ,,and im hooked

Before I binned it 6 months ago, I had my 711 down to about 185kg wet, and 129 at the rear wheel.
I've never actually ridden a stock one.

so I can't interest you in a set of plastics for it then pete? lol where abouts do you usually ride?

Fark! Where'd u save the weight? Wheels?
Mine sits at about 208kg or somethin from memory! Would love the old grl to be that skinny!

Mine sits at about 208kg or somethin from memory! Would love the old grl to be that skinny!



When I first regoed it, it was 200kg wet (i had to weigh it for rego)
In the ensuing 10 years I had it, the biggest weight savings were the carrozzerria wheels, K4 forks and brakes (4.4kg saving) carbon centred brake rotors.
More carbon, and less billet.

Yeh it was only thru gettin a blue slip that I found out what it weighed. Im already runnin a K4 front end. Figured the wheels would have saved u a heap! Hmmm....

[8D]fuck the tupperware,, i ride dorrigo coffs macksvile region love it,talking bout weight i lost 58 kilos off the pig i have electronic scales and i weighed everything wot i binned added up to 58 kilos, i,ll get it weighed soon
