G'day guys, been ghosting here for a while but only recently joined up. This is my ongoing project - 96 1200 Bandit - 4th incarnation, but going well.
Back end is carbon fibre 07 R6 cut down by 7 inches, front end is 08 Gixer thou, custom made top tripple, digital dash, 08 gixer thou switch gear, custom accelerator cables, Hell oil cooler, wilbers rear shock, keyless ignition, etc etc etc etc etc you know how it is !

The bike is back in pieces as of tonight to get a few bits and pieces polished and painted. I have a fair few original parts if anyone needs anything let me know

Thanks guys, I'm fairly happy but it should look pretty horn in the coming months when it's more sorted.

I have a mate down here with GSX1400 being built by Ben at xtreme creations, sounds like it might get a write up in Rapid, keep a look out for it.

Any of you guys ever come down to Tas for rides, theres some awesome roads down here and you can pretty much do what ever you want.......with in reason !

Welcome to madness Mozza, hey that looks like my ongoing 96 B12.. I even considered that tail before i chose the monster.. and now i'm sporting twin dominators and an acewell guage too.. post up some more pics if you've got some.. we love our piccies here.. also if you haven't already, check out the Bandit gallery (http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18621)

Thanks Gitzy, funny thing is that I nearly fitted the monster rear but was keen on the late model R6 for a few years now. Some of the simplist ideas sometimes give the most grief, it took me ages to sort out the keyless ignition. The bike had intermittent start issues until I finally found out that these old girls need 100 ohlm resistance for the starting circuit to run, once I fitted the resistor all was good. The Gixer switch gear and throttle mech was also a bit of a hassle but that late model switch gear makes the original Bandit switches look ancient. I've got plenty of pics of the build but didn't think anyone would be interested. I'll post a few as the bike develops.

This is my other bike, 08 Busa with Galespeed wheels and full Ti Force titanium exhaust, PC3 and Pazzo's, dyno'd just shy of 200RWHP. It doesnt turn as well as the bandit but it gets along pretty well, she'll suprise a few sportbike riders in the tight twisties. Overall the Bandit the way it's set up these days will kill the Busa and alot of bikes in tight stuff, it just lacks a bit of grunt as the speed gets up.

everything you see silver on the bandit is currently getting painted black and the front and rear wheels are off getting fully polished, after that i'll be getting a tri oval yoshi cut down and mounted under the bike (buell style) I think it should come up nice.

She's lowered through the front and jacked up in the rear, the wilbers shock was ordered for my weight and riding style and the front fork have been rebuilt for the same match to the rear. It should be a real weapon with the weight i've saved. All I need now is a big bore kit and detailed engine !!!!!!!!!!

Based in Hobart, New Town. Most of my build pics are at work, I'll sort them out and see if I can put up a bit of info and pics showing the different stages the bike has gone through over the last couple of years

Hey guy's I've tried to contact BlackKat as I have the parts that he requires, but am unable to due to my low post numbers. Can someone pass on the info for me. I have both front side fairings in black, both original rear sets, front forks, rear shock, front wheels with disc's, and I'm fairly sure I still have the gauges

its actually the standard 5.5", just looks fat due to the new clearance. I was going to change the swinger and fit a 6" but after investigating I found out that the Bandit 12 has a pretty damn good arm - light weight, strong and fairly stiff, so now I'm just going to paint it black. Thought of getting it underside braced but was doing it just for looks really so won't bother.

The guy who runs this joint is a pretty busy bloke (he thinks he is very important), shouldn't take too long though mate.

All of your ideas so far have paid off, In my opinion.. I'm hangin to see the cut down tri oval underslung zorst.. but you've pretty well covered everything in my book to make it look awesome.. Not sure on your thoughts but maybe an SSSA with a car wheel would make it pop even more so.... but thats kinda just a look thing with a 210 tyre.. and with your setup front and rear you prob don't wanna stuff up your handling...

check out this link anyway..

very nice bandit mate welcome , been over to tas twice now on the bike got to say your coppers are ok , we went pub to pub though a few towns and they pulled us over to let us know the road ahead was a bit dicy due to wet mossy corners we came back far to quickly to have been anywhere near the speed limit and they just asked how was the ride? lol
