So some people may remember my K1 Gixer thou.
This bike was completed in November 08 and has things like a K7 tail, PFM brakes and various other good bits.
The bike had done plenty of miles since this pic at its first outing and was stone chipped and had mud and rubber and all sorts of shit where it shouldnt be.

With the All Japanese bike show coming up and the chance at the Bullfrog memorial trophy, I decided that I couldnt show the bike in the condition it was and it was time for a spruce up.

The plan was a new coat of paint in a fresh colour and a few updates.
Nothing too major, its a great bike as it is.

The first thing to do was strip the bike of all it's body work and give it a fucking good clean in all the nooks and cranny's, repaint and repolish everything I could get my hands on.

Then add my new limited edition rad cap, complete with custom dings from allowing my buffing wheel to send it across the fucking shed at 80mph !

With the colour chosen and on the way, i ordered a new set of extreme creations discs with polished centres. These really set off the new colour !

Then it was time for some more cleaning and polishing while I waited for the rest of the paint to be done.

With the body work all back, I quickly reassembled the whole thing, tidied up a couple of things I'd fucked up previously and with the help of the ever enthusiastic Vicki, gave the bike another good polishing.

Till we finally ended up with this....

After giving the Turbo Bike a bit of a wash and polish, again with Vicki's help, the bikes were ready for the show and ahead of time !

Yeah, there's a few bikes around here, still one more hidden in the shed.

Then finally, success !! I collected the Rapid Bikes best Streetfighter trophy as well as the inaugural Bullfrog memorial trophy.
You can see why it's now called The Ranga Bike !
In the sun, the colour is spectacular !!
Thanks to the mysterious Paint Ninja for doing the job for me.

And what it was pretty much all for, to have my name as the first owner of the Jeremy Hansord Perpetual Trophy, presented by Amanda and Zavier.
I guess we're lucky over here in WA where there are very few professionally built bikes, so the average shed monkey can still take home some tin ware for something built at home.

Unfortunately, because the PFM discs and calipers have an offset slightly different to standard. The Extreme Creations discs don't quite line up properly with the calipers. They work, but if they're not right, they're just not right.
So with the WASF April Fools Run coming up, i quickly switched back to PFM discs for the moment.
Morry is sorting a new wheel for me which I'll have turned down slightly to bring the discs in line with the calipers rather than milling bits off my perfectly good PFM calipers and messing up a matched set.

Yeah Si, it flips a fair bit depending on the light and angle, indoors or in the shade it's a pretty deep colour.
But out in the sun, she's full ranga!
