This bike is going to be my social ride, as whenever I go riding with a group on the RF, I tend to find myself riding alone...
I picked up a CJ360 frame, wheels and motor on ebay a couple of weeks back and promtly started butchering it. I also scored a horrible cb250n to steal the forks, front brake and wiring from. I'll just post some build pics (hopefully in order), if you wan't to know more, just ask.

The Frame and engine were stripped and soda blasted with my dodgy homemade rig. The frmae was prepped with penatrol and primed, then painted 2pac solid black. Engine is bare or painted in ceramic gloss black barrel paint.
I had to machine down the end of the axle to make the cj wheel fit the cb forks, and made up new spacers to center it.
Next stage: tail.

I just noticed that top motor mount. They did some weird shit in the past. I presume that must be rubber mounted??

"""The Frame and engine were stripped and soda blasted with my dodgy homemade rig""""

can we have some pics and a "how to" of that setup please

Yeah the top mount is rubber isolated, would be awful vibey otherwise. And this is the same donk as the cb360, but the cj has a slightly hotter cam and jetting, a 5 speed box (as opposed to 6), kickstart only and a slightly reinforced frame.
I'lll take some pics of my blaster on the weekend if you're interested. It's slow going with soda, but the alloy doesn't end up porous like with other media.

Love the build so far, any plans on which tail you'll use?

I'm going to try my hand at ally fabrication for the tail. It'll be a cafe style solo tail, but I think I'll trim the whole lot instead of leaving the rear hump bare or painted.

Nice idea. I'm about to start another cafe / fighter build on my GS750 and plan to make most of the bits out of aluminium or stainless.

The ducktail bit is only mocked up in cardboard until tomorrow when I can weld the ally bits together. Then I'm gonna tuck and roll trim the seat section and smooth trim the tail. It's made of an old street sign (total budget $470 to date).

I finally started to pad/trim the seat. The foam was shaped with an angle grinder, and the rear has some light 10mm foam stuck on to smooth out the trim job. I spent this arvo making the pattern for the cover. Apologies for the blury pic.

Here's my first attempt at sewing vinyl. It's still needs to be pulled a little tighter with some more rivets.

For anyone thinking of trying it, use a leather needle, and some thick button/bear thread. I tried with the normal needle and thread, both snapped [B)].

Well, as it turns out, the humble standard member no longer has selling priveliges, my bad. I stuck this bike and my RF9 fighter on ebay if anyone is keen. I would put up a link, but that might be considered too close to selling on the forum :(

Unfortunately a few guys were taking the piss, selling stuff constantly, but not putting anything back into the site so the rules had to change.

Nothing in the rules about posting a link to egay etc

Makes sense. The moderation required to control the flood of advertising would have been enourmous.
Here's a link to the two sales anyway:

Sorry for the incredibly slow update.
The Bike was completed a couple of months back and I rode it a little before the new owner took it away.
Here are some final pics before it went away, note the hand made rearsets.
I also zip tied those plugs up (visible under the seat) but I was running out of light when I took the pics.
I'll put some pics of the replacement machine up soon...

Mmmmm... thats tidy, I like it. [8D]

http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/7199/3601x.jpg

Mine came out slightly different....
A mix of XS and aircooled RD back and front ends (made it real short in the rear)
A Gpz750 Turbo exhaust, rewired with half an Austin Mini car loom, One of my cheapest ever Winter Rat's,
Almost made it through a whole Winter untill it dropped a valve.

I think I prefer yours......;)
