well as you can see its got to tone colour hmmmmm
i thunk she been dropped??
when i bought it i got it as a wholesaled bike the dude traded in on a new busa!! and only just had a new bituba shock fitted,polished the frame,swingarm,wheels and forks ! well 1x fork leg and only half the front rim ??so now ive got to finish that of!
what been done so far
1/ barnnett clutch
2/ silicone hose kit with the thermostate mod
3/ cleaned all the elec conector's with contact cleaner and sealed with chemtech rubber sealer(good shit use it on the minning truck's elec system)
4/ removed stuffed fairing in prep for to be fighterd!!!
5/ sandblasted tank and high filled primer ready for paint
6/ removed rest of plastic's and preped and primed
7/ just awaiting on billet parts from usa and tiwan

as far as im concerned i know it looks like crap with out her cloths at the mo but it's my ride to work,and it also will make me pull my finger out to get her done.

well got the rearsets 2 days ago ,
took ages to fit as they were assembled incorrectly ,they have a 3/8 shim block behind the brake lever and a 5/8 shim block behind the clutch pedal lever, well he had them around the other way in which allowed the brake master cyl pushrod to kick out on an angle and they only use mild steel hex bolts.
so i used my supply at work (well the workshop supply )and fitted grd 8 hex bolts and nyloc nut's on the 6mm bolt's and a bucket load of loctite .
i got them of evilbay via "speedking" in tiawan only cost $278 delivered to work took 10 day's via mail service,i dont know how to post a product of ebay on here like others have so there is a direct link for you all, iknow they are a bit cheep but im not a track day warrior just have it for work and fun ,but she has to look good doing it besides they are adjustable and feel better than stock!!

well got the top yoke and risor's done
with the clutch cable i used an GS500 2010 model it has a 45 deg kick at the clutch perch not a 95 deg as on the tl.
i moved the throdle cables over to the right hand side of frame ,

with my ignition switch ive used alloy tube to space it down so top of switch is flush with the top yoke and also so i can still use the steering lock aswell.

my sons name is christopher allan davidson hes my 3rd born and my second son so ive got 2 chances of a KNIGHT's player and a MOTOGP/WSB rider and my eldest daughter plays league ,rides her quad like a demon and when people come in the reserve she just has to show off ,loved my range rover (god she must be mad) and even got upset when i solled it,

the last one was 2 chicks getting it on very heavy ,the pic was taken last year at lovedale long lunch at lovedale road in the hunter valley which is a wine festival very bloody good the shit that happens by the end of the weekend is soooooo good.
this is or was my rangie is the same colour that im using on the TL1000s.

in some previuos pic's i showed you all a pic of 13mm alloy tube i used to space out the ignition switch ?well i thought(this could be bad)to use this to mount my speedo head? so i used 11.5 mm steel round tube and welded it all together and made a backing plate out of 1.2mm plate with the out line of the speedo assey, and with the new alloy cnc led indicator's i tapped the tube out with a 10x1.25 tap and screewed the indicators in.
i know it looks a tad bit high but im waiting on the tinted screen to suit the dominator lights so i can mount it all correctly ,but she is my daily ride.

well put it this way this space had 3 bikes now only one and outside i had a rangie worked to tha hilt but it had to go ,"my decision not the wifes she actualy said i should keep it<
i know its not a bike but i made the extractors myself and the valley took me 50hrs alone just to grind all the casting marks out then about 300hrs topolish!why ???

as i dont have a spray booth and to much camping gear and crap in the garage i had to do outside under carport ,simply add water to area and wait till sunny and no wind,well in my case wait to anzac weekend and prep in rain,then paint base coat when it stop's ,then wait for rain and do clear coat when it stops !well kind of stop's.

well all went good untill my forth clearcoat the sky went dark and started to rain so in true fashion instead of stopping and leaveing it i had to rush and do last 2 coats and now she has a lot of run's in the clear !!

the handbrake was supprised as she didnt think i could paint!!!and loves it but when you look closer the runs say hello!!
the good side is as it is 2K im just going to let it cure for a week and block it back with 2000grit wet-n-dry going to take age's to do !well at least a slab anyway then buff back to get the deep wet look from the 5 coats of clear!!.

1/ re-trim seat's in alfa romeo red leather( i have a full interrior from an alfa 156).or trim it in dark tan leather???

2/ paint the wheels the same blue and leave the outer rim pollished.

3/powder coat the frame and sub-frame black

4/ pollish the swing-arm and fork's including the overflow bottle.

what i did for the handlebar cut out is remover the existing dish in tank but made it bigger and flipped the right to the left and visa versa so i have an instant dip in tank for the bars ,in which it will also acommadate my boof head hands aswell<
ive also taken delivery of the gianellis and to be frank not relay happy with sound ??my stainys are better but these look better

does this model run a map sensor,if so it could be fucking up, if its got o2 sensors check to see if there fouled ,if youve sealed you exhaust or inlets gasket areas with silastic,or familier it will fuck the 02 sensor,plus if your exhaust is too open the exhaust gases will flow past the 02 sensor to fast then it cannot get a good reading ,there for thinking the bike is running learn ,thus telling the ecu to give the motor more fuel,,see simple,lol

nah pete the 97 TL only has tps sensor,air temp sensor, coolant temp sensor,just waiting to get my multi meter back so i can test the sensors and also reset the TPS, aprt from that thats all that controls the fuel ,

why is it everytime i paint this fucker it rains or rains afterwoods??? i had to re0do the wheels again as when i did my final coat a storm came over and blew water droplets all over them ,let it dry sand back and re-done so now i can leave wheels for 2-3 days to cure put new rubber and wheel brgs in .
hey todd ive got the brgs and most seals from work ,didnt think to look in our spares dept duh!!! where did you get the rear right hand seal ??

started tues on arvo at 3pm then told wed going to penrith for the day so clocked of at 5pm so i can start at 4.30am to get to penrith

seems they didnt want me there for the 2 week's either lol, now ive got me some time up my sleeve to finish so all is good, ive just got some wiring to do now ,refit headlights , quick service , fit brake line's and bleed and raod test, oh at that depends if my fuel pump gasket gets here in time hmmm.

My gasket took about 12 days I think, And at the risk of sounding like a bastard, I'm not very keen at all to lend out me fuel tank Mate, espesh in the cond its in, Sorry Mate, hope ya don't hold it against me.. Do you still have your other gasket, I've read tonnes on TLPlanet, about gasket goop and stuff like that from Supercheap, bolting it back down with the goop and the old seal and voila no leak?? If thats an Option..

Also the other day I was in MCAS in Auburn, and they had 2 x brand new Gianelli Stainless Pipes for TLS $699, very tempting.
