Here's a couple of shots of my life away from road bikes... Its been fun, including the painful bits.
Starting gate of Rivertree enduro 2009 over 700 riders... well the first day at least. 40+ degree in the shade over unrelenting tracks through some really hungry country. At least 20 cases of heat stroke and one broken collar bone that I know of. Around 1/3 of the field pulled out on the second day. Hardest thing I have ever put my body through... mind you I did find one nutter who did two of the 40km laps...

Pretty much sums up how I felt. I'd have a dirt beard but I think I ate most of it.

My ride, DRZ400. Unbreakable usually. I almost cooked it after the radiator boiled dry... something which never happens.

This shot gives a taste of what most of the ride was like. 1/2 the obstacles were bikes that had been abandoned because the riders were too fucked to go on.

Obligatory blister shot from day one. Second day was 60kms

Went up to Airlie Beach/Midge point for New Years. I wont mention or show the photos of the danish back packers (yeow). Got the 14 hour drive from Brissy done in one day.

Next day out on the bikes, my mate Rob promised to show me all the tracks he grew up riding on.

Unfortunately it didn't end well for him. A really bad off saw him fuck his knee which meant no more walking let alone riding.

I still had fun. Totally different riding to Stanthorpe/Rivertree, we were up in the clouds for a while. Traction was non-existent.

Then after a bit I scored a junket to China.
Within 24 hours of landing in China I was playing basketball against some factory worker who couldn't speak english. I did learn that Coby Bryant was his favorite player tho.
Random.

McDonalds has made it there, but it cost the equivalent of a weeks salary for the average schmuck just for a happy meal.

They have a fascination with turtles... that includes when they are eating them.

My favorite meal of the trip. Chilli bullfrog. Flavor sensation.

Work starts on the 12r again this weekend. I'll be posting photos a bit after stuff is done.
